I saw someone on Twitter attacking Neville as the club is £91k a month in the red. Over £1m a season spending beyond their means. All that investment and nothing to show for it in L2...

Yet here we are - dont need to do alot and a benchmark for where we need to be.

 

I used them two clubs are clubs that are doing ok at this level but should be doing. Salford are doing better than us.

I'm not worried but not excited either. We need a few more decent player as you say and I think they will be coming in over the next few weeks or so but as it stands now we are not good enough.

What are you their accountant? Always makes me laugh when football fans worry about money. Smacks are a set of losers or owner without money & ambition.

Another striker centre back and wide player would see us with a very good chance of automatics.

 

And how's that working out for them? Oh yeh, midtable L2 side pretty much like us.

They've appointed United's U23 coach Neil Wood.

Crawley have appointed Arsenal U23 coach Kevin Betsy.

There's going to be some young, hungry coaches trying to get one over Hughes next year.

 

I get your point Jon, but we said that about our dynamic duo. In think Betsy will opitomise his Arsenal methodology. 6 man defence?

 

I've no idea how Betsy or Wood will do, but they certainly have experience working in a world class set up.

That can't be said for Trueman and Sellars, for all their good work as coaches here at City.

I'd still rather have Hughes, I'm just saying there will be some coaches wanting to test themselves against one of the bigger names in the lower divisions. Getting one over Hughes in terms of tactics will be a feather in the cap.

Id also suggest their priority is making Crawley and Salford competitive rather than getting one over on Mark Hughes. Season is 46 games, not just 2.

It still amazes me that we have Hughes as manager. Outside of the Prem I would say only Wilder, Dean Smith and Bruce even come close to him in terms of big names. I’m sure most teams above us would consider him.

 

Why are young and hungry always put together in football I’ve never really got it, we always do it with players as well! I’m sure after 3 years out of the game he’s loved all his life Hughes is just as hungry to get going again, certainly how he comes across anyway. Hopefully he fills these young lads up.

 

I hate that phrase too. Its the most overused in football. Anyone young is assumed to be hungry. Several friends and family use it everytime we sign someone young and it gets right on my tits, lol
