We lost 2 to maybe 3 of our best players. The saying in football don’t lose your best players.

The players signed might get us to 10th but we won’t be a top 7 team currently. We need better.

Mate, honestly you have no room to talk about anymore.

You understanding of the modern game is poor. Supporting Bowyer when clear he was a failure. Backing Adams when it was clear he wasn’t right for this club.

You can’t say anything to anyone with your record.

mate had Hughes been in charge of that lot last season then we would have been a top 7 side the reason it wasn’t was down to Adams and his crap tactics and signings along with the toxic attmosphere he created ................. all that’s changed now and let’s get it right we ain’t even stopped signing players yet :) ............ I just hope the standard last season continues because of that’s the case I think we are nailed on for a top 7 finish at the very least

They may of been our best 2-3 players but they were all inconsistent an you didn’t truly rate any of them in the first place. Of the 2-3 players, 2 of them have been significantly upgraded upon. A Championship team captain and a League One quality winger.

The defence has been bolstered. Platt was highly rated by Barrow. Crichlow was Swindon’s best defender until he was recalled.

Cook an Angol were a highly effective duo up front at the beginning of last season when they were playing alongside one another. Young was backup to the most prolific striker duo in League Two last year an was still rated by FGR fans within his limited minutes.

Vale fans were left disappointed when Harratt was not returned to them on loan. Vale went up. Surely they wouldn’t want a player back if they assumed he wouldn’t be able to cut it in a league above ours, right?

The team has been bolstered in almost every area. We work on a limited budget. For the first time in years, it seems to of been utilised effectively.

So do tell me Fordy, who exactly should we have signed as a League Two club with a limited budget that would of met your expectations for how this summer window should of panned out?

Amazing that @Bronco@Bronco likes this when he was happy for Adams to stay.

Look mate I agree Adams was a complete failure for us in every way and I am glad the fans picked up on that quickly(barring Bronco).

If we can get our home form right and more back to back wins then we stand a chance.

Fordy, there is nothing wrong with getting behind the manager, something you are lambasting Broncs for.

Having a split fanbase helps nobody. Some fans lose faith at the earliest opportunity - sounds like you are in this group - at the first hint of trouble, whereas others like to take a more patient approach.

We can’t go sacking managers willy nilly and paying out compo when we don’t have much spare money in our budgets.

With Bowyer, we were in the playoffs for a long time. With Adams, we did start the season brightly and looked good on all the KPIs- xG, shots in the box and what not.

There reached a point when both manager’s time was up but the way some on here go on, they’d have had them sacked months before. But football doesn’t work like that - you need justification to sack a manager.

with bowyer, the Doyle fiasco and turgid football was his downfall. With Adams, results nosedived and he alienated fans and players.

……but you can’t sack at the first hint of trouble.

Let him enjoy himself, very little changes with our old buddy Mr Ford, same old sh!te week in week out I don't know why he puts himself through the torture of watching Bradford City season on season.
He tell me footballs changed then quotes "If we can get our home form right and more back to back wins then we stand a chance" that's never changed since I started watching back in the late 50s win at home point away you should get promoted.

The transfer window is going as planned. Signing squad players in the main and one or two decent players. Notice that everyone is on a 2 year contract which is highlighting to me we want to build a squad and looking to improve players. As you have pointed out we have limited finances because of how we operate and a shite owner. I think this season is a what will be will be season. I honestly don't think the club believes it will go up. They will always soundbite but I think its next season in which it will be 100% miles per hour to go for it. Unlike some on here the club will understand going from 14th to top 7 is a big ask. The club will be looking to build into a top 10 finish and if it gets into the top 7 then bonus.

Hughes will want promotion but hm to will be like if needs be I will get use to div 2 for a season. Look, its not impossible for us to finish in the top 7 but for me we still need at least 3 quality players for me to even start thinking we will.

The likes of Walker, Smallwood won't bottle under pressure from our crowd and we are signing players that won't be rabbit in the headlights at VP but recently we can't even beat Harrogate so I can't think that a top 7 finish will happen no matter how excited people like @Sergio Pinto III@Sergio Pinto III and @Bronco@Bronco get. These people are the same no matter what. Every pre season! Their understanding of football is pretty poor.

For once Fordy I tend to agree with a lot of what you are saying - it seems likely that with an emphasis being placed on recruiting youth and fitness Hughes is planning a 2 season campaign, giving him time to build a squad that meets his own vision. We certainly saw a change in the performances (Colchester excepted) after he took over. But then you went and spoiled it by slagging off Sergio and Bronco - you really should try to explain why your opinion has so much more validity than anyone else, rather than just calling out others for not understanding football - makes you sound a bit like Rahic

You shouldn't mention @fordy and bets in the same sentence he's renowned for his welching on bets, which is really sad for a business man of his magnitude.

I think the opposite, we are bringing players that can get us promoted this year and that will improve for the division above.

He defies logic. He would be creaming himself if Mansfield or Salford etc had recruited like us so far...he was waxing lyrical when Salford signed Matt Smith in January!!!

His typical throw away comment to justify everything is 'other teams will improve'. Bradford haven't, not with 11 recruits and more incoming but others just will and its as simple as that.
