Salford and Mansfield haven't really got started. They don't need to as much as us.

I've stated that so far we have done ok but nothing that will scare any other team in this division. We are soft. A weak club with poor ownership and shite CEO. Nothing really for any club to fear barring us fans.

Any other manager will just think we will crumble just like a PL manager thinks of Spurs or Arsenal. Talk a good game but really when you look at the club they are soft because the ownership is weak. Spurs are getting better due to their manager. We are getting better due to ours but really in honest truth Bradford City is a failure of a club and you can't be scared of failure. Teams will think get a point at VP happy days but the win is always on. When you can't beat Harrogate you know that the a club has deep issues.

I think realistically Hughes has tried to sign a team that can get promoted this season, and improve, and compete in L1.

But whether he's achieved that remains to be seen!

I think there is still more players to move both ways.

Salford don’t need to recruit as much as us……..Are you seriously OK? Perpetual favourites for promotion, spend money on players like it going out of fashion, sack managers at the drop of a hat and perpetually finish as a disappointment. I’d say on that record, they need a complete overhaul…just like we are in the process of doing. Get out of your armchair, stop listening to the radio and do some research instead of trying to seek attention all the time. Banter is banter but why say the complete opposite of everyone else? Oh and Mansfield squad ( 30!) …. 33% of their squad contracts expire in three days time…..So they need to get recruiting and sharp! Rest of them expire next year……Research then comment?

The owner may not be the best but we have one of the most competitive budgets in the league this year

Hughes isn’t gonna build a team for the year after. He’s looking for promotion this season with a team that are then capable of being retained for a year of football in the league above. The signings of experienced players mixed with a blend of young players hitting their stride demonstrates this

We finished 14th last year even though we had a manager who was scared to play on the front foot for 3/4 of the season. League Two, in comparison to the championship an League One, is an easier league to get out of on the right end. There’s 4 promotion spots up for grabs

Furthermore, The standard of football in League Two is shite. As demonstrated by Hughes when we actually started playing good football for the last quarter of the season. With a full pre season, a better squad of his choosing, there is no reason to suggest that we cannot aim for the title, let alone promotion

This team is capable of challenging for promotion as it is. and that is without us having a RW, RB an CB for cover

Fordy your making it out like League Two is the pinnacle of english football. You really don’t need much to get out of this league. Simply a decent manager who can structure his team effectively. And a few players of real quality that can take the games ahead by the scruff of the neck.

Port vale were nothing special. Neither were any of the other teams that we played last season. But the ones that went up had a game plan an the players to exercise it

Mansfield an Salford are terrible examples. Salford have richer owners than us. Owners who actually know about football. More than Rupp an Sparks combined. And theyve done feck all in all the time they’ve been in this league. They’ve just wasted money, same as us

As for Mansfield, Their promotion push was off the backs of very good loan signings, who aren’t likely to come back. As someone previously mentioned, a fair chunk of their remaining players are out of contract as well.

We have the right manager in place. We have 85% of our team already in the door in time for the beginning of pre season. From here, I want to see Periera back so he can cover the right flank. Id like to see an upgrade on Hendrie but he’s a capable League Two RB so if we go into the season with him then im not fussed. And another CB. We are rumoured to be interested in a few players in that regard so im not worried

Salford finished 10th or something like that. Mansfield unlucky not to go up. Both teams will improve.

Look, if you want to think we will finish top then great! We will discuss this at the end of the season when you are crying - AGAIN!

Mansfield will struggle to improve. Their best players were loans

They’l be in the same situation we were in when we lost Cullen, Evans & Burke

Salford and Mansfield haven't really got started....isn't that worrying? What would your approach be if 'we hadn't really got started' by the end of June??? Infact, don't answer that, we already know the answer.

Again, this is where you are wrong. If you knew what you were talking about you would know that Mansfield have lost 4 first teamers in Bishop, Stirk, Longstaff and Murphy - who have all returned to their parent club. They have also lost Rawson to Morecombe. That is nearly 50% of their starting 11 from last season. Same can be said for Salford, they are another club definitely weaker at the moment.

He has an obsession with comparing us with how PL outfits are run. He thinks L2 and PL are pretty much the same quality aside.

He actually said Leeds finished in a poor position last term, should they be thinking of winning the league like we are - lunacy!

Disagree with your first statement. Mansfield have lost their key loan players so have just as much urgency. Without those January signings Mansfield would be pretty much where we were. Salford are perennial failures and have let Henderson go who has been the only reason they have got top ten. Again just as much urgency.

Not sure how you're classing Telford as young and hungry (he's 26 this year) but it was only tongue in cheek anyway.

I agree and there's not a single member on here that would describe me as overly positive regarding City or being a "happy clapper".
