I’ve just seen the second goal. What an absolute joke. Ridiculous attempted clearance, followed by a no effort jump for a header, followed by some sort of little petulant jump up and down, followed by no running back, resulting in a goal. Head down, no apology. No roasting from his team mates either. Cowards, the lot of them.

 

It was a shocking look. I must admit I didnt see that yesterday as it was at the other end but it looks really damniing on him. Cant defend that at all.

 

I think the whole team lacks an “arse kicker”
The accusation that Smallwood doesn’t seem to be able to get his players motivated has been around for all his time at the club.
Stubbs (who imo should be captain) tried to bollock Osadebe last week and he just walked away indignantly waving his arms.
No one seems to want to accept any responsibility when a match is going tits up.

 

On one of the other threads, a poster had a go at City fans applauding Songo’o. Well although Songo’o might not be the best technical player, he has something that some of the current team seem to be lacking. That 2nd goal says it all to me.

 

The evidence is compelling. Smallwood needs to find another club.

 

After that I really wouldn’t be bothered if he didn’t play again. It’s not the first time he’s just given up . I don’t really care if your not the best player ever but Jesus I want too see some fight for the team

 

From the minimal minutes he’s played, Macdonald might be that person. He was orchestrating everything when he came on yesterday. Pointing to space where players should be, calling to them whilst he was on and off the ball - we looked better with him. I’d rather a fit Gillead and Macdonald alongside each other right now based on the way things are going.

Sadly Smallwood has drastically failed to deliver since signing and if we have the fit replacements, think a spell on the sidelines is required. Did Cook no harm last season….

 

Drop him.

And I don't mean removing him from the team.

 

That really is shocking. He's supposed to be the leader on the pitch and his attitude will trickle down to the rest of the squad. He needs to have a long hard look at himself.
