Fordy, there is nothing wrong with getting behind the manager, something you are lambasting Broncs for.
Having a split fanbase helps nobody. Some fans lose faith at the earliest opportunity - sounds like you are in this group - at the first hint of trouble, whereas others like to take a more patient approach.
We can’t go sacking managers willy nilly and paying out compo when we don’t have much spare money in our budgets.
With Bowyer, we were in the playoffs for a long time. With Adams, we did start the season brightly and looked good on all the KPIs- xG, shots in the box and what not.
There reached a point when both manager’s time was up but the way some on here go on, they’d have had them sacked months before. But football doesn’t work like that - you need justification to sack a manager.
with bowyer, the Doyle fiasco and turgid football was his downfall. With Adams, results nosedived and he alienated fans and players.

Cook will score goals at this level and with Harratt, Angol and possibly Young all vying for that sole striker spot then I suspect Hughes might think he'd got enough unless he surprises us and plays 2 up top.
I'd rather we spent some of the striker money on a very good right back. That's the position I feel, at the moment, is the weakest in the squad.Bronco, borderlescott, Kevin1954 and 1 other person like this. -
Up until 2 weeks ago, Smallwood was statistically the 8th best passing midfielder in L2 with an 80.1% completion, as stated with him being on corners and technically, a corner cleared goes down as a miss placed pass, he was probably a lot higher than 80% and 8th. Only Platt has intercepted play more in a City shirt than Smallwood, he also has the third best tackling numbers for a CM in L2 so far this season. To say people don't think he's been a midfield general type so far is not the case at all.
However, he has had a shocking November. Which is even more evident when his midfield partner is also having a terrible time at the minute with letting people breeze past him and offer little to stop play. The engine room has had a very poor run of games, which hopefully will have an upswing soon especially with the weekend off to refresh. It's also something that can be glossed over if the attacking midfield 3 offer something to change a game, but again none of them really have a consistent output so a lot of the players behind Cook that should be offering either general play of from set pieces are going to be scrutinised. Central midfield is an area of the team with very little competition, that needs addressing in January.Budgie, Allotment Bantam, Manningham bantam and 1 other person like this. -

Smallwood doesn't inspire me as captain either. If I were Hughes I would have replaced him with Stubbs for the start of this season and "promoted" him to Club Captain.

I’m sorry but if you’re defending Smallwood after today then you’re either a close family member of his or you’re incredibly stupid.
