Just what I thought at the time Dave, "Come and get the bloody thing"!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
His static stance could, and should have, cost us there.
He lets in too many 25yd 'wordly's' too, Tranmere being an example. Clear view of the ball yet allows it to go in past his late diving, left hand.
How many has he let in like this, this season alone?
Hope Hornby is given his chance, starting tonight.

 

To be quite honest, I feel more relaxed when Hornby is in goal and quite panicky when ROD is there.
If I personally feel like this, do the defenders feel similar, hence the indecision at times?

 

Neville Southall played at the age of 42 for us in that never to be forgotten game against Leeds in the Premiership I believe.

I saw him blamed for us finishing 15th last season, even though he had one of the higher save percentages in the league. His distribution is poor and he should come for crosses from corners(it’s not as easy from open play regardless of what some think on here as you don’t know when the player will pull the trigger) but he’s league 2, it’s the old cliche of he wouldn’t be at this level if he didn’t have weaknesses. It got to a point last season people started to ignore the gaping floors in our defence, midfield and tactics by the managers and just lumped it on R’ODs return. If we are so reliant on our keeper to keep us in games then we have got serious issues.

 

The Hornby fan club have been quiet recently, if ROD had have conceded 6 goals in 2 games he would have been hounded out of the club by some

Watch it again, Why was he so far off his line for a cross so far out, He should be guarding his line in case the forward won the header, once he won it and was on target it was going to be a goal because it had been left unguarded

We need better than ROD:

 

Not an ROD fan by any stretch, but i find it hard to blame him for either on Saturday. the second was just a sublime piece of skill by Pitman attack the ball and place it where he did. The first was so hard it was almost unstoppable. Only people to blame are the defenders who didnt get in first and clear.

 

Hornby is not good enough, 10 years or so a professional and I don't think he has ever been first choice or established himself anywhere

 

Think the basics at this level is a keeper that commands his area ...........he sadly doesn’t and it looks like the centre backs are always trying to 2nd guess what he’s gonna do ...........

 

Never mind getting blasted for the near miss, what the hell is his positioning for their goal.
he is 3ft out of position. No wonder he couldn't attempt a save into the bottom left corner.
This is what does my head in about Adams.
Surely they watch it all back, speak to the players and highlight where they are going wrong.
He would be dropped for next week if it was me, its the only way to increase competition.

He is part of a back 5 that concedes sloppy goals he doesnt deserve his own thread nor should he be excluded from recent criticism.
