Heard from a good source that AOC is the only player out of contract who has been offered a new one but it’s unlikely he’ll accept as it’s a 50% cut.

 

I think it’s the age it takes for the defenders to pass the ball forward. By the time they’ve managed to control it and look up, the refs blown the whistle and the opponents are sat in the changing room having their oranges.

 

And when he realises that no other club will offer more he'll sign for us at the last minute and if not ...well so be it..

 

Watt dropping back for the ball all the time is a problem. And then when he does its nearly always the hollywood pass.

I'm wondering how fair it is for us to be drawing up our preferred retained lists when these players are playing in accordance with the "Chuckle Brothers" manual of coaching "to me-to you" - and then back to Hornby to hoof it long. We've wingers playing on their wrong side, a lone striker with no support and a totally negative mindset instilled into the squad.

We've all had a boss at work who issues instructions that are clearly unpopular and incorrect, causing consequent disdain and disinterest amongst their staff.

These players must be totally peed off going in for training and reporting for match days, to play a system and style that's doing them no favours. They look demoralised and the performances reflect that. Remember, they are being coached by two individuals who have no professional playing experience.

We could be clearing out players who've been stifled by not being allowed to express themselves, or allowed to play to their strengths. Certainly, playing a winger on the wrong side, meaning they're constantly turning infield, rather than getting to the byline makes little sense, yet we do it constantly.

All I'm saying is we may be doing some of these players an injustice.

This has been Watts first full year at league level and experience will teach him when to try the Hollywood pass. He does look as though he can go on to a better level. Time will tell.

 

I have seen nothing in this guy other than making up the numbers...

 

The first thing with Watt is to work out what his best position is because his skill aren't akin to central defensive midfielder. Second half of the season he became less and less of an influence to a point where he was getting below average marks from Parker every week. Hopefully the end of the season will see him recharge his batteries but at the moment he looks miles off playing at a higher level. And thats coming from someone who rates the lad.

 

There’s a talent in the lad, you can tell he has grown up at a top class academy, I just think he hasn't got a football brain. He needs to learn quickly or spend the rest of his life wondering what could have been.

 

Watt is going to be a championship player in a couple of seasons ,he’s got more ability than most in city team

 

He's got potential but he's also got a long, long way to go.

 

I think he might get a move to a div 1 club in the summer and I like him but I wouldn't be like gutted if we sold him. He's got a lot of improving to do.

Recently, he has been playing like hes spoken to his agent and got told clubs higher are interested in him. He's been so being careful.

 

Watt plays too deep for me, think he'd be more useful further up playing the killer ball. He's picked up a lot of yellows this season from fouling late when other teams are on the break. We could do with a sort of experienced no nonsense player in there, e.g. songo'o or diaragoua at Morecambe or Anthony Grant at Swindon. As for the retained list I'd only keep Hornby and Scales. The rest can go and yes Wood can go for me, think he became too comfortable in the back end of the season and we need players for a full season, not just part season.

 

Please no, he has been a curse and one of the common denominators of our shocking demise over the last 3 years

 

I agree with you I believe he played higher up for Carlisle on loan last season and was mor effective. Also like one or two other players their fitness levels don’t look that good. He looked knackered towards the end on Saturday along with Paudie. I am really hoping the club make good on their promise of improving the fitness and conditioning department
