I agree he sometimes disappears in games but like on Saturday when we had midfield he plays well

 

I like Ball, hes technically a decent player and puts a shift in but watchhing him i do wonder how you’d get the best out of him. He’s not a wide player yet ends up there because we have no wingers. He could play as a striker off a target man but again there are better players out there that do that role. Probably best behind a front two but you would have to tailor your team selection accordingly and that would then negate the use of wide players.

I'd like to see Wood retained but not sure he will be one of the chosen few, based on the fact he has barely had a look in since Bowyer has been here. Surely if he fancies him for next season, he would be picking him for the bench at least?

 

My thoughts too, he just seems to have been disgarded in favour of Chickson. Strange that.

 

Almost as strange as picking Anderson to start every week. (Please God, don't let him be on the retained list. There are plenty of other tall people out there that we could bring in to replace him, some of them might even be actual footballers).

 

I’ve heard a very similar thing - not specific numbers, but that there are only a very small number of players he wants to keep.

And quite rightly so.

I also believe that there’ll be financial backing to sort this mess out - within reason. The club must know that financial budgets and planning need nailing down NOW. We can’t wait like we usually do, and that’ll mean Rupp having to dig deep again.

I’d keep Caddis, but I’m not convinced we will. POC I’d keep if possible, along with Wood, Goldthorp, Scannell (if he’ll stay) and possibly Doyle, depending on money. Can’t see much else worth keeping.

Caddis signed "until at least the end of the season" so I'm guessing that means an option. Could be in the club's or the player's favour though.

But it seems to have been the case ever since Wood signed. Our multitude of different managers have all preferred Chicksen at left back. If Wood stays I don't think it will be as a left back. He looks better in that more forward role. If he is cheap enough Chicksen might get offered a back up role!!

 

Given that all the loans will go back anyway there isn't a single player left that I have the slightest inclination to retain ! 'They can all start looking elsewhere as far as I am concerned.

 

I'd only keep Caddis, Mellor, Wood, Doyle and try and convince Ball to sign. Maybe Paudie on another loan. No chance of O'Brien for another year.
