If we wanted to try to keep Reeves we would have done. Reeves more than likely wants out. Let's be honest it's not been great for him here and I think he's actually more suited to div 1 or the Championship.

McCall thought highly of him so just opening up for debate. Personally I wouldn't be against him returning.

If McCall wanted him to stay then he would have been offered a contract. They could be offer factors. McCall might rate him but Reeves might want to be back down south and playing at a higher level.

 

Or more logical is we can't risk or afford to offer him a deal - like Mottley-Henry. I wouldn't be surprised to see Reeves return is my point.

O'Donnell the exception the above as a keeper is a must and one we probably don't want to lose. We played it smart and safe only keeping him on imo.

 

O' Donnell was his captain though. He highly rated him and that's why he has been offered s contract.

I would be shocked to see Reeves return for many reasons mate.

 

Think Reeves comes under the banner of 'doesn't want to play for Bradford City' ..

 

Bit surprised at you there Broncs. Always had you down as one City fan who could think beyond the end of Midland Road when it comes to signing players. There are too many on here who constantly hark back to old players who have moved on and usually for good reason, no longer thought to be able to be what we wanted as a club, right or wrong.
Taking the ones you mention, Doyle failed to hold down a spot with a relegated SPL Club in a league of average if you take the top two out. Billy is a great guy who I personally like but he clearly failed to convince at Plymouth in his short time there and if we are to get promotion we need better in my view. Fordy says he has been offered a new contract at Grimsby, I haven't seen that but they are very much mid to lower table and as I say we need better.
T MC failed to hold a spot at Oxford and Scunny and the last I heard he was helping coaching at Boro so hasn't played for over a year probably. His time at our level is up in my view.
We need to aim higher and as Holloway says he is being bombarded with players on offer, the same will apply to most clubs including us and the market dictates we can get better for less, it has to, the industry is on its' backside.

Too many people just not thinking about the market and having McCall as this weak manager who will just pick players he knows.

TMC is just not the player you would want now. You need you full backs to be like Wood, quick and can cross a ball. TMC isn't quick and is finished in professional football as a player.

However, again I feel they're better players in the market then Clarke.

Plenty of players getting released and the loan market will be different next season. No need for anyone to look back.

 

They all did good jobs for us in their time but they are all well past their prime now and there will be lots of really good footballers looking for clubs let’s just hope we pick the right ones. And I think the early birds will get the juicier worms

 

Whats wrong with approaching players he knows? Would you rather he signs someone who he has no idea about?

He has had plenty of time to review the players out of contract and do his homework on them.

Didn't a supporters group buy Parky some software that gave stats on all players? Assuming it's still with the club then I am sure he is taking full advantage of it.

Though I do wonder if GB ever used it.

Is this the same Jake Reeves who was finished after a 24 month layoff, and if he did manage to get a club at a higher level youd be the first to say we should have kept him we knew what he was capable of under Stuart, got to love ya Fordy throw enough darts at the dart board and you'll eventually get a bulls eye.

 

Think clubs clearly are talking to players now. You only need to look at the 3 Charlton players that won't play and @wetherbywhaler comments on Holloway saying his phone ringing all the time.

However, a lot does depend on when league 2 starts and if salary cap comes in. I think it will be more of we are interested in you phone call.

 

Just a passing comment with regards the video link, yes I'd love us to be getting better players we can afford, it should be a buyers market.
All fair points with regards their careers when they left us but things have dramatically changed and they were 3 players who served us well whilst at Valley Parade and I would think players with character that Stuart wants at the club.
With regards think further than the end of Midland Road your quite right I'm usually very positive with regards all things Bradford City, maybe it the present situation when we cant even predict if this season is going to be completed when it looks like every other football league is going to be.
Most agree the coming season should be a buyers market, the thing is do we have an owner who is happy to invest more money to allow Stuart to put a promotion squad together, when as a club our usual take up of season tickets is on the back burner and after this virus many fans wont be in a position to renew and certainly not to pay £20/25 on the day, but if nothing else it offers a different view and debate rather that talking Covid-19.

 

I'm sure Stuart said he and Julian were sitting down and discussing players and the coming season around the time we got our arses kicked at Salford, and that was before Covid-19 so as many are saying it should be a buyers let's hope the coming season is the first step of getting out of league 2.
