What ever the reason I am glad he is staying the season started going down hill after his injury and whilst he missed a few his presence and experience made space for other

 

But possibly on twice as much ?, at his age an injury that many younger players could shake off cost us weeks with Clayton, I like the lad but can he do 30+ games next season.

Donaldson signed on a year contract then the next year was basically up to him if he stayed or went.

McCall had no say in it whatsoever and if you remember McCall took the captaincy off him plus dropped him for Novak and even Guthrie. Highly doubt McCall wants him to stay.

Lets hope he can utilise the loan market well next season, especially for younger options with pace up front.

 

I wonder if it was not for the pandemic and all the problems with it, meaning that costs had to be slashed, whether any of these released would maybe have been offered a new deal? As there is unlikely to be any football for the first few months of the season then there is no need to have players signed on incurring wage costs. It will be interesting to see what does happen in the final countdown when a starting date is fixed and decisions have to be made.

I can see what you are saying and SM said that in the T&A article today, no point in incurring playing costs when you ain't playing. I thought Reeves would be kept on and maybe McCarten.
