I think when it all gets sorted we will look at who is available including those released by us and make a decision on who we want to approach

The tune on Donaldson has changed. I tried to point out that he wasn’t very good earlier in the season and all I got what that his all round play is phenomenal and I’ll only realize how valuable he is when he’s not in the team. “There’s more to bring a striker than just scoring goals”.

A slide down the table, Bowyer sacked and the season over well before the pandemic started later and suddenly making him one of the highest paid squad members to win fouls and “make the ball stick” doesn’t seem as appealing.

Awful player who’s wages alone will hold us back next season.

 

I am pretty certain that will not be the end of movement out of the club, conversations have taken place with players on this list - I understand the key aspect will be when we are able to start playing again. Some are on pretty low deals and some have no desire to play for us (and I am sure we feel the same way!)

 

Several weeks ago Stuart said he and Julian had sat down and discussed next season and players he might be targeting.
Obviously with the present situation not knowing what the future holds, I'd think things could change in our favour, but all teams need to know what's happening with regards this season and next.

 

I would imagine many of them have been told if you can find another club who wants you, you’re free to go. In a post Covid world I can’t imagine too many clubs battling to take on AOC’s Rahic issued contract, expensive old forwards or dog shit league standard players like one or two others

 

It would be unrealistic to think that whatever happens, we are likely to be lumbered with one or two who the club would like to move on but when we do return it will probably at least be a drastically different team to the shambles of last season

 

Hopefully one or two will retire and some others will decide sitting on their arse all season isn’t for them

 

I think we just need to sign players who play well in front of the cameras. Cos that's how we'll be watching them. Kind of ironic that we've got rid of McCarthorse who was useless because he was afraid to play in front of big crowds. Who knows, maybe behind closed doors he'll be brilliant (still couldn't hit a closed door with a banjo though).

 

It’s not happened overnight either, a Bolton supporting mate said he was absolutely appalling for them.

 

He wasn’t for us though we were much better when he played we were challenging at the top when he picked up his injury and won 4 of the previous 5 by comfortably margins. I am pleased he will be here again next year he was fitter than a lot of the younger players

There's a strong rumour going round that Premier League clubs, in order to help lower league clubs (and themselves) may loan players out and cover ALL their wage.

Don’t really get the dislike for Vaughan from some
On here! He somehow managed 11 goals in team that didn’t attack! The only reason he left at the time was because of bowyer! You ll do well to find a better out of contract striker at this level. Mccall will get him firing am sure!

 

I think Vaughan and Donaldson were starting to form a good partnership when the former got injured but I take your point about age although Donaldson looked pretty fit to me. But we could do with some young blood as well
