Well worth a visit. Good food, large portions and nice place. Also liked by my other half, who is very particular about his food and restaurants!

It's alright. But I've been a few times with work colleagues and never understood why people rave about it so much.
I think Bab Tooma on Wilton Street knocks it into a cocked hat.

Cheers. Also going with work colleagues who rave about it, so going with open mind

To be fair, I'm not a massive middle eastern restaurant fan, so I might not be the best judge. So much of it is kebab-based, which I find boring.
When at such places I tend to seek out the non-kebab dishes, particularly the casseroles and aubergine dishes, which I like. I found the selection and quality of those dishes to be much better at Bab Tooma, which is Syrian rather than Persian, I believe.

I dont think I have been to a Middle Eastern restaurant before, not a huge kebab fan myself, but dont want to be the team party pooper at work, so I said I would give it a try with them!

What's not to like about kebabs? Spicy bite sized pieces of grilled / bbqd meat. Fatty pieces welcomed, oooh, it's the taste.

Kebabs are ok - as a curry house starter or a quick and dirty takeaway filler on the hoof. But do I want three of them as a main meal? No thanks. If I eat out in a restaurant I want something a bit more interesting than that.

Thai Aroy Dee again in Leeds today, shopping trip with my daughter.

I don't know anything about Thai food.....the lighting is good as the large windows are left clear viewing onto Vicar lane leaving the installed lights mainly decorative.

Ambience, more canteen/cafe than restaurant, relaxed, we got the last table at 3pm, l would guess the diners 90%+ Thai, good sign. Noisy.

Licensed but can bring your own, l thought £5.50 for a pint of Singha beer expensive for such a place but it didn't stop me....

I had Satay Hed, marinated in spices mushrooms grilled over charcoal, stir fried broccoli in oyster sauce, then Pad Ga Prao, stir fried vegetables in chili & basil sauce.

I was over faced, portions were far too big for me. I liked everything though, stand out fresh flavours.

They do a £6.95, starter & main course every day till 5pm. Not a place you'd dress up to go to but a "fun" place and makes the fashionable Thai "fun" street food chain directly across the road look v.expensive indeed.

Can't recall what it cost but it was bleeding good value, you can eat well here for £10/12 pp.

WHAT??? Only 2. That's a disgrace. Anyone remember the Alhambra curry house on Leeds Rd. Green neon lights. Mr. Khan manning the counter and microwave. Think it was the first time I'd ever seen a microwave!

Was that on the left, going up as the shops ran out?

I had my first curry in La Luna, just down from La Ronde further down would be the notorious Cavernes. I was served chapatis, had no idea what they were. Got myself a fork and started eating.

If you were coming out of town it was on the right about half way between town and Laisterdyke. We all had our favourites back in the day. I do remember La Luna though....and Cavernes of course!
