A win midweek against Crewe could see nigh on a full house.

 

Can understand the decision. More than likely that 1 of the 2 will be promoted. Whilst we have an outside chance, that's all it is

 

They haven't shown all season that they've really got the balls to deal with the pressure.

5 or 6 times we've had chances to get into the top 3/keep auto hopes alive and each time we've bottled it. Even the win at Northampton last weekend was so what fortuitous and leant a lot to Lewis' heroics in net.

 

If we don’t get promotion this season it will be a real waste of having a 25 goal+ striker and a top goalkeeper. Sadly neither will be with us next season if we don’t go up ,as we will cash in on Lewis, and Cook will get better offers than ours after his remarkable season.

 

Disagree. Clayton and our current two CB’s are worthy of any successful team, that’s before you add Critchlow to that list. Adding to that our full backs are above average for this league IMO.

This above list is doing its job as the conceded goals will tell you. Sadly it’s the gel between them and Cook which is where we’ve been inconsistent and thus Cook aside, looked exposed. Walker’s injury and fitness/form since coming back has been below par and there’s been no alternative available/tried. Hughes seems reluctant to play with width despite there been ‘on paper’ options there all season.

For me, the spine isn’t the issue. It’s what supports it is.

That said, we’re still in a good position and there are games left. However frustrating some recent results and performances have been, there is still so much to play for. Managing expectations is tough at our club but as Morais put very well in post match yesterday, we are very much progressing vs LY and still challenging around the top. I’d rather be where we are now rather than looking up from further down relying on others to slip up.

 

We can win 7. We have shown we are capable. But also shown we are incapable.

So we wont.

There's a lot of points to be dropped by our rivals so if City get their fingers out, we can get into the Play-Off's at the least.

Funnily enough I would prefer these two hard games rather than a Rochdale, Barrow game, we seem unable to raise our game against poorer opposition.

 

Surprised Mansfield were nilled at home tonight vs Grimsby. They are eighth with one game in hand left on us. Four points behind. Great result for us, that.

 

There are gonna be so many twists and turns, expected and unexpected points won and lost it is far from over....Keep The Faith as Northern Soul fan Rocket would say...

Well it’s up to our team to make sure they at least make the playoffs, which is a minimum from here. You’ve said yourself a million times focus on our own results, so stop dwelling on worst case scenarios and focus on ourselves getting the required points. It’s in our own hands, which is more than can be said from the last 5 years at this stage of a season.

As I posted after last Saturdays game our destiny is in OUR own hands we have to win our remaining games it was 6 before the Rochdale game now its 5 who would back against us.

 

And we complain about our commentary

There is no one to fear but ourselves from the run in.

Swindon are mid table with no real motivation.
Gillingham are 9 points clear of relegation with 4 games left and as Hartlepool and Crawley play each other on Saturday they can't both win see's Gillingham Safe.
Northampton is a game with everything on the line.
Crewe are mid table with no real motivation.
Leyton Orient will be Champions anyhow and hopefully hungover from celebrations.

We have the experience in this squad to get us over the line and within the next week Stockport are at Carlisle and Mansfield play Stevenage meaning if we can win our two games we are guaranteed points on at least 2 of the teams around us. The game in hand is effectively an extra life at this stage too.

We are in a much stronger position today, than we were at 3pm on Saturday.

I agree we obviously would need to strengthen, but Orients advantage to use was having a solid core of a squad and not having to totally start again. Hopefully we at least have the foundations and would just need a certain number of first teamers rather than a near full squad again.
