Its a pretty odd statement to make but I'd imagine Hopkin is confident of survival being where we are now considering we were something like seven points adrift at one point. He might be alluding to the fact that it has taken good form to get into the position we are now.

But I hope he, and the players, understand that it is going to take better form to complete the job. A win on Saturday would be a huge start.

Looking at the current bottom 7 teams:
    • the best any team is doing, over the season to date is 2 points more than matches played;
    • over the last 5 matches, 4 of those teams are averaging less than 1 point per match; and
    • over the last 5 matches, the other 3 teams (ourselves included) have got 6 points, not much more than a point a match.
I would be surprised if more than 3 of the 7 teams significantly improve their form. On that basis it is reasonable to assume that, after 46 matches, it is unlikely that most of the 7 will reach 48 points or more.

Of course, things can change but, based on current position and current form, I'd say 48 points is the current golden number.

@How@How not talking about games in hand now.

Most of the teams that have them in hand have won.

Can't see how we get out of this unless we get back to back wins and soon.

I'd say Wimbledon and Rochdale are going down. If i was a neutral i would include us in that but as it stands i'd say 2 from 4. Saturdays fixtures do us no favours by the looks of it. Bristol have a winnable game at home for their game in hand and Oxford have Scunthorpe at home. Walsall realistically the one we could reel in but thats a five point gap.

With Bristol Rovers in the Checkatrade Semi Final they'll likely be a bit high on confidence. When we got to Wembley in 2014 our form in the league was good too. Once we lost in the final, it dropped massively and we really struggled for the rest of the season until the last 6 games where we won 5 of the last 6 to survive. I think I remember it as being similar in your cup run in 14/15(?).

We play Rovers in the Semi on Tuesday and it could be a huge boost to both Bradford City and Sunderland AFC if we get the win. Their last 11 league games: WWWDDLDWDDL, averaging over 1.5 pts per game. If they go out the cup, their confidence will likely drop, they'd lose the form they're in and they'd be huge relegation candidates.

I think Wimbledon, Rochdale, Oxford and Bristol Rovers will be relegated judging by their run-ins and what I've stated above. Still very early days though.

We will await events, and see if your predictions are correct. Loving the way you get to chat about Sunderland and bring City into the equation, nice one;)

Tell me just out of interest, don’t you have a lively chat forum for your team? I know this one is the best, and we appreciate the compliment of your frequent visits, but your lot must be pretty boring?

I probably wouldn't have knew they were still in it if we weren't still in it to be honest.

I believe the general feeling of many is that our season is slowly dying before our eyes and will ultimatly finish with Bradford City back in the kahzi league.

I honestly believe Rahic and his antics have knocked the stuffing out of many fellow fans, and the way our team have capitulated since that great run in December has not helped.
Will Stefan keep putting finances into our club to give the next manager a fighting chance to either challenge for promotion our keep us in league one if we have not already been relegated this season.
Under our last owners I believe even though there were a few dissenters on here and C&B we knew Julian & Mark would not put our club into a position where we couldn't manage the deficit.
No body knows what financial damage Rahic has done to our club, we can only hope Stefan stays around long enough to get us back to something like the club it was before they purchased.

It's the uncertainty surrounding the whole Club. There is little of substance that can generate optimism, either from the increasing debt or from the possibility of demotion. I'm sure that if we somehow strung a few results together on the pitch, then that ,along with a strong message of support from the owner, would be a catalyst for increased confidence and support for all of us. We are in a rut as a Club and can only look forward not back, hence the need for a change in fortunes.

    Update: GERRIN.

Watch them drop in form now.

I feel I'm the Paul Merson of this forum. Not liked by many and my opinions and predictions are probably a load of bollocks.

BRFC will probably go on to finish mid-table:confused:.

We've already been read our last rites, now desperately searching for a league 2 fixture next season that looks remotely interesting. Its grim reading i tell ya.

Sunderland seemed to have sorted it out again this last month. Was comfortable tonight in the end.

As for relegation, bottom 4 will be Walsall, Rochdale , city and Wimbledon in no particular order. We are all crap.

Bristol’s goal difference is impressive compared to the rest. They will be ok

I'm sure the commentator mentioned that if the league started since their new manager took over they'd be 8th in the league. Like I said though, a cup run always helps and (if I'm right) they'll drop in form now.
