Relegation battle

Yes, and I've posted about how that season and this are fairly similar.

There was nothing special about the season we avoided relegation from League Two - very little difference between then and now.

 

I very rarely give up on our team until it has more or less happened. I think we will pick up points from the top sides, they will not be parking the bus for a start, they will fancy their chances and that might just play into our hands. It depends how we approach these games atm fans on here have written them off mainly due to the stats against the top teams, but the end of the season battle always throws up surprises. If we go int them with a nothing to lose attitude and a bit more adventurous we just might pick up points.

Plus it is still wide open, with a lot of teams looking over their shoulders, this season it is going to the wire. I am not full of confidence we can do it, but we have as much chance of beating the drop as some of those around us.

We can pick faults with the players, the manager, tactics and formation, but let’s not lose sight of the real culprit here. Our club has been sacrificed on the alter of the ‘Rahic project’ When we pick over the season, we need to remember what he has done to our club, and it started the minute he walked in the door.

Its not as you were though. We are worse off now than we were at kick off this evening.

 

Several clubs still without three points reach who no longer have a game in hand.

While I'd rather have the points tally they have, rather than ours, any damage was pretty limited this evening.

Not too bad, IMO.

 

Agree damage was limited. But we need to help ourselves now by picking up 3 points at Walsall.

 

He's right in that some teams have points now than they started with, so we are in a worse position.

Relegation places won't be decided after tonight's results (No Shit Sherlock) but the writing is on the wall.
It's going to the wire folks mark my words before Hopkin states the bleeding obvious to us all.
League One lacks quality this season. You only have to look at the table. More relegation fodder than promotion contenders.

 

As true as that is, Rochdale are only one of the potential teams we might be chasing - they're not necessarily the one team that played tonight we need to overtake

They might finish 15th for all we know!
