You expect him to be at the level he was before the injury, you've just said it in your post otherwise you wouldn't have made the comparison.

I'm happy to go with GB and his decisions on it if I was a betting man then my money would be on Devine and probably Anderson having made a bigger contribution to our season come May.

I completely agree about the impact by May but I'd be giving Reeves every opportunity to prove his fitness and game time as I see him as a better player than the 2 mentioned, even if he lacks a little of what he had.

Yep, we'd all like to see him regain fitness, the problem is how we enable him to do that. That's Fordys point I think.

We'll soon have Palmer and maybe Devitt back which pushes JR further down the list so assuming we put him on the bench that probably means no Devine or Anderson.

Now imagine another couple of central midfield injuries around Februaryish and if JR isn't ready (which is more likely than not) then we're calling on a couple of lads who gave been sat on their arses for 8-12 weeks just to give JR 10 minutes here and there off the bench.

For me Fordy has it spot on, JR firstly needs to be fully ready to play and then given some loan time further down the ladder. Once he's proved his fitness and form then he can start to be integrated back into the squad.

You're correct I'm not taking your replys seriously, that's got to be your best reply as yet.
"Most fitness coaches haven't experienced having to handle a player being out of the game for 20 months!"
Yet you say we should send Jake out on loan to a non-league club, where you're happy to let them do his rehab and get Jake back to match fitness.
I'd suggest we check with the club before we send Jake out on loan that the club have fitness coach's who have experiance of players being out for 20 months..

He needs games and to prove himself again hence why a loan would benefit him.

I suggest you start thinking outside of the box.

Once again you conveniently fail to answer my question why would we allow a none-league club to get Reeves through his rehab and anything like match fit.
If we don't have the resauces what makes you think a none-league club has, total nonsense.

I'd suggest you just start thinking.

He's out of contract in the summer and he's been out 20 months. He may as well stay with us, we monitor his fitness and continue with his rehab and get him to a point where he can play for us, give us something back rather than loaning him out. I understand the suggestion of loaning him out but we gain nothing from it, lower level football isn't something he needs, poorer pitches, less football played and the chance of getting whacked by the opposition.

I'd be more confident of keeping him fit, if possible, with us and getting match time when ever possible.

This is on the off chance that he continues to be injury free which doesn't seem likely after his time out.

You keep mentioning him getting fit but getting match time "whenever possible" isn't going to get him match sharp.

We've got bigger fish to fry than being here just to help Reeves get a contract back down south next season. It's all about priorities and ours is promotion, can JR help us in that aim? I'd say it's very unlikely.

On the off chance though, a month with another team getting much needed minutes and then he can be assessed more accurately on whether he's good enough ti be brought back into the squad.

I wonder if they will give him 20 minutes or so, and ease him back.
