Wouldn't it be ace if Jake Reeves did actually post on a Bradford City football forum, posts regularly at the beginning but then hear nothing from him for the best part of two years.

If he doesn't look depressed then he mustn't be.

    Phew glad that's cleared up.

The guy is injured and there is little we can do about it. He's contracted to the club and whilst contracted the club has a responsibility to support his medical and rehabilitation needs. It's frustrating for everyone - absolutely - but Bowyer has been giving updates when questioned about it.

And to those saying, 'bin him off!' I would dread to be employed by you! Talk about complete disregard for a legally binding contract not to mention a complete lack of empathy.

As none of us know what he has been really going through, all we can do is welcome him back into the squad...and support him to the max vocally when he pulls on the shirt.

I’d happily trade about 5 of our fringe players for 2, even 1 quality player. Devine, Anderson, Gibson, Patrick at least

Thought he played well tonight not only with the ball but organising and being vocal with the rest of the team. I'm sure Bowyer will want to carefully manage him as the last thing we need to do is rush back with too much too soon and end up out again. Felt he allowed Cooke to push a bit further forward than he has been which with his passing and desire to get on the ball could be great for creating chances. Would be interesting to see a midfield 3 of Reeves, Cooke and Pritchard as all will work hard, get on the ball and create things for other people.

He could be an asset in league 2, that is if he ever gets back on the field. I hope the lad manages to get some game time but one things for sure, we can't afford to be carrying passengers this season. If he can't get physically sorted soon i can't see any way back for him in football, no one would be daft enough to take the risk.

I’m glad I don’t work for a fictitious business you have.

That argument makes no logical sense whatsoever. If he is homesick and wants to return down south, is the best way to achieve that faking an injury for 2 years so that no other club will want to come near you, or getting out on the pitch and showing you are a decent player for this level in order to attract interest from clubs closer to home as soon as possible?
I think what Tallinn posted yesterday about his own groin injury and how it affected him was very interesting and is probably closer to the truth about what is going on with Reeves than any stupid theory that he is just running down his contract.

That's brutally harsh. Injuries are part and parcel of the game. Any £50million of £50k player could get a career threatening injury in training or a competitive match which is neither the fault of the player or club. To put blame on Reeves for holding us back as you infer is naïve at best, probably cruel. If he is injured he's entitled to his wages as he rehabilitates. I don't know why he's absent at the moment. It may be that he's been on sick leave in which case his wages would surely follow in line with industry. Usual example being, full pay for 6 months, half pay for 6 months, zero wages thereafter. Again, I don't know what the circumstances are but to heap blame on him for holding us back is unfair. We've had plenty of time and opportunity to sign/loan adequate replacements.

Personally I hope he features this season. I always thought he was intelligent on the ball and I could see him forming a partnership with Palmer.

Why would money come into it anyway? Millionaires and Billionaires suffer from depression.

That's pretty crass. I'd suggest a couple of hours banter with the lads and being around the ground might have simply cheered the guy up. That, or he is merely hiding the pain with a smile. As many that are depressed do

The club are doing what they think is best with the information they have to hand. I get the frustrations of the supporters and i guess no one will be more frustrated than Jake Reeves. In a physical sport where injuries are part of the game sometimes as a club you draw the short straw. With Reeves it just happens to be us. Pit yourself in his shoes, he’s missed nearly two years doing a job we’d all love to do. If he had something like cancer we’d all be sympathetic to his cause, just because its something else doesn’t mean we shouldn’t show some compassion.

Brilliant to see him back in the squad. A fit Reeves definitely belongs in our current squad but whether he can become the same player prior to his original injury remains to be seen.

For showing such determination to overcome the injury and lots of setbacks, for ignoring the over the top and at times unpleasant stick he got from alleged City fans. After such a lengthy lay off he could have made a case for collecting an insurance payout and retired, but he didn't, he stuck with it.
Any supporter would want a player exhibiting those qualities in their team, especially as we know he can hold his own in the league above the one we are in.
I sometimes think you are a bot @Fordy117@Fordy117, you don't seem to exhibit much human emotion.
