The club are doing what they think is best with the information they have to hand. I get the frustrations of the supporters and i guess no one will be more frustrated than Jake Reeves. In a physical sport where injuries are part of the game sometimes as a club you draw the short straw. With Reeves it just happens to be us. Pit yourself in his shoes, he’s missed nearly two years doing a job we’d all love to do. If he had something like cancer we’d all be sympathetic to his cause, just because its something else doesn’t mean we shouldn’t show some compassion.

I knew someone once who hated his employers. Coincidentaly he fell off some ladders and did his collar bone. He was told he'd be off sick for six weeks. Four months later and he's still going to doctors convincing him to sign him off because he just simply didn't want to go back.

Now I'm not saying this is an analogy we can apply to this case (although clearly some do). What I'm saying is lets go easy on the gushing sympathy until we know the facts. You only had to look back on this thread to see how some made fools of themselves when Reeves was supposedly depressed. Going down either the condemnation route or the compassion route are both premature at this stage because no-one really knows. This is one that has to run it's course imo before this thread has any relevance.

Heres the facts. He’s been out nearly two years for whatever reason. None of us, unless they know Reeves personally, knows the full story behind this. What i can only guess, but i’m pretty sure i’m right as i usually am, is that Reeves would rather be playing football. And for that reason alone i hope the lad recieves some sort of closure to the last two years, one way or another, so he can move on with his life.

Do we know for certain that it is his mental health that is keeping him out.

Also when is Tyrell's court case?

    how so?

Keogh is 35, has a horrific looking injury and will be out 15 months. which is less time than Reeves has been out, at 25, with a groin strain.

At 35 with the injury he's got it wouldn't suprise me if it ended his career.

    Ricc,

I and some others are really trying to lock into your logic and empathy (?) combination, here.

In simplistic terms, are you suggesting we all suffer equally from a headache ?
Some have a deeper one, and others appear to cope better. But that it not the whole point, is it ?

We are all individuals and afflictions hit others more or less than that of any other individual. So - Might I suggest ..... That until anyone who is in place to do so releases an explanation (Reeves, or the Club) - We all adopt a neutral view - OR - Just keep schtum ! ??
    T.I.A. :)

Bottom line, hes been out 2 years. No way is he coming back as a player who'll offer anything of value. It's too long to miss.

exactly. 2 years out with a groin niggle.

he's done. finished. a waste on resources. and yet he's still under employment with us. absolute madness.

I know there's more chance of a muscle injury getting better (in some cases) than an injury to a joint, but it's a bit like the Micah Richards scenario. Richards eventually had to just call it a day because as much as he wanted to recover and make a comeback, his body just wasn't going to let him.

He talked a lot about depression and how fans were accusing him of stealing a wage etc etc etc, but he had to accept in the end that he was in denial and he was never going to be fit enough to compete again.

He retired at 31, after nearly three years out injured.
