Good. They'd pretty much downed tools from the time McCall was sacked. It'd gone on long enough and something had to change. I don't remember many advocating the nicey nicey encouragement route at the time.

It did but to publicly make 5 of the players train on there own, young players too, is stupidity at the highest level.

It's been shown though that an arm around the shoulder and building up squad morale works. Players can be a tight nit group, player power talks these days.

shouty shouty just doesn't really work anymore, especially at higher levels in of the game

Will say also massive respect to Reeves for even playing again as I personally had given up the ghost with him. I liked him as a player before that so if hekeeps up his performances like his comeback game then I honestly think he could be one of the players to be the difference between us getting say the autos or just the playoffs. A bit of creativity and the eye for a pass alongside his work rate is exactly what you need playing against the set up that teams usually have when they play us, which at times we've struggled to break down. As a quick aside from the highlights of that game some of the movement and passing was insanely good at the start from the whole team. Hate clichés but I do think he'll be like a new signing.

All depends on context. Players will see through frauds quickly. If you’re just ranting and being a c**t, that’ll prove divisive, dead quick. If you’re tough, demanding, but fair and transparent - I think thats what players want.

Klopp, Guardiola. I bet they can strip paint with the best of em. But they know what they’re doing. Their players would run through brick walls, as players would for the likes of Clough and Ferguson, and Mourinho in his earlier days.

Man Management, in any industry, is an art.

Good luck Jake Reeves on his first start in a very long time. Hope you reward the fans patience with an outstanding display. You deserve it.

Probably the best player on the pitch for us, knowing Reeves personally it has been such a huge battle for him, but without Bowyers support he wouldnt of been where he is today.

Showed some good through balls - same we couldnt get on the end of the them, or make them count when we did.
Alot of collecting the ball from the back four, but then ultimately usually a sideways pass to the full backs, due to the lack of movement in front of him.

Easily MOTM and head and shoulders above anything on the pitch from either side. Was good to see someone who wanted the ball and to then try start a move which unfortunately must have shocked the rest of the team as they were on a different frequency!! Onwards and upwards for him if he can keep fit.

Before we get too carried away with Reeves, yes he was the best player on the pitch on Saturday however he still gave away his fair share of balls, and the free kick in the first half was dire. I was impressed with his ball distribution on the whole, but I think his motm award probably had a lot to do with the rest of the team being so bang average they made him stand out, as well as the other midfield options we've had to put up with for the last year or so

In any case it was good to see him get valuable time on a dodgy pitch, and hopefully he'll carry this on against Newport

He certainly did carry on against Newport. He was very good again. Great to see him influencing games - he looks so classy in League Two.
