We can't say for certain what the 'truth' is in this case but GAs quote from the other day led me to believe he knows the player is saving himself for a move. Really, and you know how self certified and GP sick pay works do you, how a proportion of it is funded , for how long and who by …… ? When you can cite it chapter and verse let me know. There’s only one mug around here suggesting collusion by club and employee to defraud the Governments Statutory Sick pay scheme .

Whilst a most employees are fully entitled to sick pay on a basic salary, WITHOUT bonuses etc , a PROPORTION of it is claimed from the Government and is claimed by the employer . There may be insurance cover requirements included as well.

And yes in direct answer to your question, he played every Swindon game in Nov/ December I believe in early Dec he did get injured but continued to play , all of a sudden he returns to us and two days before game day he claims injury . Does that smell fishy, or just a gigantic coincidence?

Both the club and player are playing it the correct way, it happens all the time in football. The club have an asset they want to protect and the player has a big move he wants to protect. Very similar to the Wells situation, the likes of Lawn weren’t daft in that case and this is one thing the club is getting right atm. He will be gone soon, we get the transfer fee and he gets his move. Everyone’s a winner, there doesn’t need to be a conspiracy it’s just business.
