Fans say they want to hear from the chairman.
Chairman plans to go on radio show.
Fans complain that he’s doing an interview, saying it’s pointless.
One word: Weirdos.

Pleasing to hear what Hopkin is saying.
"My biggest attribute is getting unity amongst the players. I'm harsh but fair. If they don't work hard, they won't play. The fans work hard through the week and on a Saturday that is their enjoyment, and I will make sure the players know that".
Very level headed, down to earth, confident he knows the score. -

One thing was clear having watched the footage, Edin looked far from comfortable when being questioned. In all fairness, those asking the questions didn’t really hold back and fair play to them for that:
“Do you now accept that appointing Collins was a mistake?
Are you going to be less hands on when it comes to team affairs?
Do you accept the divide between yourself and the fans?
The club had momentum when you came in and now it doesn’t!”
If by some sheer miracle Rahic didn’t actually realise how much negativity there is towards him before, he bloody well does now!!! -
Having listened to the press conference earlier, Edin answered his questions and I cannot believe we are debating over if he was apologetic enough over the Collins saga? What does everyone want? A personal handwritten hand delivered apology? He and Rupp have sacked Collins which is a big enough indicator that they know they made the mistake. I don't seem to remember this much demand for Lawn and Rhodes to apologise after the Archie Christie debacle. It's done, they acted quick and his mistake is made for this season and for me they have already done their best to ruin our chances this year but hopefully maybe have saved themselves some face in time a quick appointment of Hopkin.
Look every single one of us have heard all the rumours of Edin this and Edin that. He's answered a few questions today and now we need to not hear from him for a long time. To me that would show the club is doing well on the playing side of the pitch. The more you hear of a Chairman the more you wonder why? It's usually when things are going wrong, and very rarely when things are going well. It would also show Edin is less hands on as suggested and would mean he is giving Hopkin what he has requested to be successful. He is flatly denied the picking the team story a few times now and not one of our previous managers or coaches have claimed it, yet it continues to surface. I think his issue is the mistrust over budgets and players signing from the early days of McCall from what weve heard since McCall left of how certain players were not signed on and were signed on etc.
I am always more interested in what Hopkin has to say and thats the way it should be shouldn't it? Couldn't care less what the chairman says if the results are right on the pitch. Hopkin alluded to a young squad a lot in his interviews and I do think he will look to get a few more experienced bodies in to sure it up when we need it, given they are available now.
Double training sessions for the players and I bet they haven't worked harder yet this season. Love that. Get into them and let them know what we want. Hope we are not too burnt out come Blackpool but a positive result and next saturday could be good at VP vs Charlton.Botswana Bantam, Bantam Boy, meelin and 8 others like this. -
I’m not sure how much the owners can be blamed for Parky leaving. They’d barely come through the door when Parky left (to a club with a bigger budget and better squad). So not sure how you can put all blame on them for that. Furthermore, many fans were tired of him and ready for him to move on, so I don’t think Parky leaving was too disappointing to a chunk of supporters.
McCall proved to be a good appointment but I think stating his achievement (getting to the playoff final) was above fans wildest dreams, is a bit ridiculous considering we got into the playoffs the prior season and kept a decent chunk of that team together. The situation last January was a debacle and the owners shot themselves in the foot by not backing Stuart given our league position and the strong momentum we had. However, like I say, if they learn and back Hopkin in January then you just have to move on from it and can’t keep beating them around the head for something that went wrong in the past and has been learnt from and hasn’t been repeated (hopefully).
The appointment of Grayson was viewed by many as a shrewd appointment, given his excellent CV. So again, not sure how his failure can be blamed on the owners. Everything about his experience and previous achievements indicated he was a good appointment.
I do agree that the search for a new manager was ridiculous and highlighted that there must be some serious issues with our sales pitch to potential managers. I assume this related to the whole head coach vs manager / transfer committee / development squad stuff. Which, like I say, if they accept that some things need to change and this has enabled them to agree terms with Hopkin then again, we just move on and accept that they’ve learnt and will be better owners moving forward.Bantam Boy, Inspector, Nick_W_ and 8 others like this. -
Pretty much every poor decision which has been made by the current owners was replicated by the previous ones but I don't recall any calls for them to apologise so what's the difference. It's not like Lawn was any more humble.
We need to draw a line in the sand but that can come from both sides. Holding the current owners to a standard that was never applied to previous ones is just a sure fire way of continuing to be aggravated by actions which in the grand scheme of things are largely irrelevant such as needing apologies for bad decisions they have tried to correct.Bantam Boy, WilsdenBantam, City-since-67 and 7 others like this. -

Who is this Nigel Hall dude? He says ER wasn't humble enough.
BOLLOX.
ER said he and SR HAD made a mistake.
All I have heard for weeks is that ER should openly admit he made a mistake appointing MC-so he did!!
But that's now not enough.
DH said he would be soley responsible for team affairs. Nigel said he doesn't believe that. So DH is a liar now?
Nigel won't go to VP again until ER leaves. No one really cares.Stop hovering to collapse... Click to collapse... Hover to expand... Click to expand...meelin, City-since-67, Nick_W_ and 6 others like this. -
my two pennoth:
-Rahic has upset the apple cart
-He is ‘passionate’ ie a bit of a dick
-Most of the rumours are probably half truths and hearsay
-The club was already a shambles off the pitch under Lawn and Rhodes and we were being carried by Parky’s on field success
-We’ve regressed in terms of spirit and fitness on the field since Parky and in particular Nick Allamby
-Things are gradually improving off the field ie the pitch
-We’ve recruited more professional and clean cut backroom staff, less leaks etc
-Football is morally bankrupt

I also feel he threw McCall under the bus in January by being "Injured" only to make a miracle recovery the day after the transfer window closed.
I've heard he treated the young lads in the squad badly to the point of bullying. He just comes across as a not very nice human.. and when a youth player played a prank on him the year we got to Wembley he basically tried to have the youth player sacked. Then got him back by trying make him pay a bar bill that was about £750 on their trip to Ireland.
That in a nutshell is why i think he is a snakey little c**tWilsdenBantam, Batmanbantam, Jayteebee and 6 others like this. -
Can we give the bloke a chance, at least ?
I've barely met him (A few quick hello's) , let alone know him. And yet I'm prepared to let him have his say.
I'm not blinkered anymore than the rest of you, but things in life can, and do change. Let's hear what he has to say, before we all start our own script writing, OK ?
He may well be full of the same Bull schitt and self preservation, but until we hear it - we'll not know, for sure. OK ?

What's weird about the Edin Rahic situation is, it doesn't really matter if he admits a mistake. Chairmen are above that, look at Swann at Scunny. Sacked his coach after four games, said "I made a mistake, we move on".
Conversely, it's obviously rubbing people up the wrong way that Rahic WON'T admit his mistakes which is feeding into an ongoing narrative that he's an odious chairman and something of a bully.
He'd be far better served showing HUMILITY.Jayteebee, Utters0, bantam2708 and 5 others like this. -

The last owners who I supported because they tried their best. Appointed a manager who produced what some described as the worst in the league. Talked about moving toOdsal and taking the fixtures and fittings. Broughtt in a striker from Scotland who was a massive failure yet after he had gone had to pay out a fortune. They also sold a striker who was a great goalscorer for what some thought was way below valuation and brought in McClean. They went into the last week of one pre season with about 7 signed players. And most summers we picked our signings from trialists. And many accused the joint chairman of trying to force Stuart out. And supporting the opposition at a reserve game.
None of these chairmen have taken flak like these. Yes they have made mistakes recently some big ones. But they have done good things as well. The criticism has been way way over the years opStop hovering to collapse... Click to collapse... Hover to expand... Click to expand...Inspector, Fuzzy, Solentbantam and 5 others like this. -
Rahic and Rupp did some decent work during their first season but ultimately it was a season heavily influenced by the PP era. So they've effectively had 1 and a bit seasons where they have fully stamped their authority, and it's not great reading.
Last season: poor recruitment in both transfer windows. We generally brought in poor-average players, wasted loads of money whilst doing so and fûcked up the January period in more ways than one. Couple this in with all the off field issues with the manager and players and the season goes down as a disaster.
This season: They realised you can't go up through slashing the wage budget and increased it as a result. Credit to them. Whether we have used the budget well is debatable as there are still massive holes in the squad but already thing we can all agree one is that Collins was a shocking appointment and it failed miserably.
So in short, the only time we've succeeded under R & R era is when the foundations had already been set and where most of the hard work had alrealy been done The Rahic/Rupp era where everything has been their own doing has been poor.
One thing I will credit them is that there have been signs of improvement in parts. They realised you can't go up in the cheap and increased the budget. They realised you can't go up with an amateur coaching set up and have brought in someone with more credentials. Hopefully next season is the one one where Rahic stays away and we put the two together, but to date it's not been good enough.WilsdenBantam, Utters0, pns1945 and 5 others like this. -
Just watched the presser back and loved the questions from the journos. Edin looked very uncomfortable when put under the spotlight, I loved every minute of it. As for the gaffer, he handled himself very well. Talking about leading by example and the players being in no doubt about what he wants and how he wants it done. Think he’ll very quickly see who fancies it under his stewardship and who doesn’t. Saturday will tell him a lot and I think we’ll see a much improved performance.

"There was barely any acknowledgement of responsibility for hiring Collins in the first place. As we have heard 2 or 3 times before, Edin was beating round the bush and showed no real humility. It wasn't enough for us fans. We're not asking Edin to get on his knees and apologise mercilessly, but at least acknowledge some responsibility and show some humility or how are we supposed to move on?
The Radio Presenter specifically stated that Edin was sat next to him and that we would hear from him. After Nigel's phone call, which spoke a lot of harsh but honest truths, Edin did NOT take to the mic. Instead, Radio Leeds played a repeat of the earlier press interview.
Extremely disappointed by this. -

Edin Rahic did not say that him and Stefan Rupp made a mistake. The whole point of this debacle is that Rahic did not admit that they made a mistake.
They merely admitted that it was them who made the decision to hire Collins, and said the reasons why, because they thought they had it in them to take the club to the next step. Then, "they realised the performances were not good enough in the last 2 matches". There is no humility or admitting that they messed up, which is what is p*ssing a lot of City fans off. This continued arrogance and egotistical nature is causing an even bigger divide, he has had a great opportunity today to help relations between himself and City supporters on a personal level and he failed. It summarised the type of person he is and it's somebody I don't believe we will ever endear ourselves to.CT Bantam, Utters0, broadsword and 4 others like this.
