Having listened to the live press conference Edin believes it's all about momentum, he doesn't get the rift between his regime and the fans.

 

What I got from the T&A Blog.............

Edin accepted responsibility for Collins.

Hopkin is a leader, the players are OK with his ethos, and he will galvanise them.

It could take up to six weeks to see the change.

Have I missed anything out ?

 

Edin doesn't understand why there is a divide between himself and supporters.

 

I deliberately omitted that, as I wanted to keep it to football only.

 

Or doesn’t want to acknowledge that it exists and he’s the root cause

 

Because he’s a bell end and completely ruined our club

 

I.e the standard press conference after sacking a head coach and presenting the the new coach.

 

One thing was clear having watched the footage, Edin looked far from comfortable when being questioned. In all fairness, those asking the questions didn’t really hold back and fair play to them for that:

“Do you now accept that appointing Collins was a mistake?

Are you going to be less hands on when it comes to team affairs?

Do you accept the divide between yourself and the fans?

The club had momentum when you came in and now it doesn’t!”

If by some sheer miracle Rahic didn’t actually realise how much negativity there is towards him before, he bloody well does now!!!

 

I'd add the word nearly to this statement.

He has played his get out of jail free card now Any suggestion that our new manager is not being supported, or that there are differences of opinion will be leapt upon. Ideally, Mr Rahic needs to take up golf or something to keep him occupied.

 

I thought that Hopkin showed much better nous when fielding Parker's question about "underachieving players" than we ever saw from Collins.

 

Correct the right questions have to be asked and not let him dodge then, no James Mason and hopefully no Abbott.

 

I’m not going to slag Rahic off for now. The owners have acted quickly to rectify a mistake of their own doing but at least they’ve tried to fix it. We have assembled a relatively decent squad and if we are in the top half come January hopefully they will back Hopkin (having learnt from last January!). If they do that then I feel they will have redeemed themselves for many of the mistakes over the last 18 months.

 

What's he done so far to get you onboard the band wagon @Just Looking ?.

 

He was asked questions and he answered them honestly in my opinion. Yes he was uncomfortable who wouldn’t be under the circumstances. He was right when he said now is the time for all to come together because anything else is counter productive

 

What do you mean by ‘all come together’.

I’d say this is the most joined up and aligned in thinking we’ve been as a set of supporters for a while.

 

Just when are you guys going to accept most decisions Edin/Stefan has made have been very poor ones for someone "who knows football".
From the first day they walked in we lost Phil Parkinson the very man we owed our previous 5/6 season of season on season improvement, after advice from James & Julian he brought McCall in he did wonders in the first season getting us to Wembley, beyond any Bradford City fans wildest expectations (we hear he wanted to sack him during the closed season for not following his vision) yet let him continue as manager, sacks they guy (wrongly in many fans eyes) which proved a very poor decision when Mr Championship manager couldn't steady the ship either.
He then tell us he's interviewed several quality candidates for the coaches position (but doesn't offer any of them a contract) promotes two rookies from our youth set up who are well out of their depth and he has to sack Collins, and you are going to give Edin/Stefan the benefit of the doubt, unbelievable @alex, the decisions they have made now should have been made after Grayson told them he was not the man for the job rather than go for the cheap untested option.

 

I think we will come together under DH - because of the start to this season we are all so relieved at his appointment he virtually has a 'get out of jail free' card for the start of his tenure - for the record I think he is the right man knowing who else was potentially available. You might think ER was being honest, I just think a bit more humility would have been a good move - he is largely the man who is responsible for it NOT all coming together in so many aspects at the club

 

The thing that stood out to me with Hopkin at the Press conference is he is on the same page as Edin on developing young players he stressed that’s what he is good at therefore a good fit with the ownership.
