Aha, so the Hang'em high brigade need to stop short of erecting their gallows, it seems, as strongly syspected. Mitigating circumstances do apply.

Banning for life lol. Imagine 20 years down the line and you have a 35 year old who shouted a naughty word when he was a teenager but is banned for life from watching football. Actually quite laughable when you think about it.

I always envisage a bloke in his late 60’s, with his grandkids and grown up son in tow, getting marched off by a steward because he acted like a dick when he was 18.

Exactly the sort of thing i was thinking. I imagine some were so outraged at this incident that they didn't actually see that they couldn't sleep on Sunday night. What next? Spurs banning fans for life for shouting yid army?

I've never known anything quite like this season for this type of idiocy.

I witnessed first hand at Sunderland when they smoked out an entire pub with smoke bombs, ruining the afternoon for everybody concerned (hundreds of City fans + locals).

We've then had warnings from the FA for:

    - Pyrotechnics at Rochdale
    - Pitch invasions against Peterborough

And now we have racism at the Wimbledon game and reports of fans being run at.

Just what on earth is going on! Could it be that the frustrations of what's happening on the pitch is spilling over to fans behaving like this? It's no excuse but I'm struggling to think of any other correlations apart from the extremely dire season we've had.

Wonder if the kid was washing the car for his big brother, to then drive down Midland Road after the game at stupid speeds scattering people as they so like to do.
No police investigations into the many near misses that happen all too frequently.
And no I'm not racist, just stating facts.

Your points are valid and correct, though we really ought to try eradicate idiotic behavior from our own ranks before we can start lambasting others.

Should you be to blame for every incident a white person does? seen as though i was 1ft away from that car when it sped down midland rd nearly knocking my nephew to the floor. I think im in my right to say that your silly excuse for racism isnt in defence of me that night.

Not sure where the ‘glass’ bottle bit has come from. You cannot take glass bottles into the ground and they do not sell glass bottles in the ground.

The ‘smoking area’, if I am correct is at the rear of the Kop. It is actually outside the stadium, but opens out into a fenced area (a bit like a five a side pitch), which can only be accessed through secure gates.

My view is that education is the appropriate way forward. The details of those recorded and a ‘marker’ put on their membership if they have ST’s. As has been said by many, we all did things in our youth, which we would not do now.

Perhaps they need to attend a course, which they have to actually pass, before any suspension of entry to the ground is waived. In essence then on ‘licence’.

Not a silly excuse unlike your post, just an honest observation.
    Chill.

My example of the glass bottles being thrown were to show that not everything that had claimed to have happened actually happened.

If the smoking area is actually outside the stadium but access is only possible from inside the stadium surely it is still part of the ground and therefore the league ground regulations and the clubs ground regulations still hold. If not then it happened outside VP.

I've set up a thread on smoking within Valley Parade and moved/copied the relevant posts across.

A couple of posts are now on both threads, as they covered both subjects.

It seems like a lot of people are OK with this behaviour which I find quite appalling. If you are OK with this then you are part of the problem.

I started taking my son to games but the behaviour of some of our "fans" is making me question whether its worth it in the end. People laugh about Milwall being a family club. After this weekend what makes us any better?

I’m not sure people are OK with it, more questioning the the automatic presumption that what is claimed to have happened happened exactly as has been claimed and also that lifetime bans are the appropriate outcome

Go on, where is it said that anyone is ok with this behaviour? Don't let a few idiots ruin what is usually a trouble free afternoon barring the odd exception. If you're looking at football being completely free of societies ills then you won't find it at football.

Maybe people that don’t read comments properly and then tar people with a brush are part of the problem.
