The FA rep who was interviewed on ITV made specific references to Hartlepool and Congleton and other incidents week in week out in our own pyramid. I thought he came across really well only to see him slated on social media.

Have I heard correctly today that England are being charged for our fans disrupting the Bulgarian national anthem?

Interesting thread. You can try all the sanctions going but you will not stop racism. It's part of human nature, the divide and conquer scenario. Where we have a world defined by boundaries and division racism will exist.

You need to stop looking at colour or race. It's disingenuous. Simply put all of those people into the same set of figures and see that the biggest factor is poverty.

And Asians disprove the poverty and oppression as being major root causes though. They are a minority group who traditional have lived in poverty but as a race are much more upwardly mobile, commit significantly less violent crime and less likely to have gang affiliation. If you were right then black, Asian and Hispanics would see the stats for all these things would all be in the same kind of ballpark when there are significant differences.
You are just doing what keeps being done and that's to try and boil complex situations down to throw away sound bites that put all the blame onto others when the reality is blame for pretty much any complex situation is a shared thing including those at the centre of the issue. There are external elements that can be improved to bring the number of black people killed by cops such as improved police training, better internal oversight to weed out the bad apples, the government doing better on gun control and the likes but there are also lots of internal elements which need to be owned and worked on as well otherwise you are putting up roadblocks. Better police simply doesn't solve things on its ownStop hovering to collapse... Click to collapse... Hover to expand... Click to expand... -

To think the Bulgarian manager was giving it large about there been no racism in Bulgarian football and it’s England with the biggest problem. No doubt there’s still a big problem with racism in this country, but it’s not flat out denied or even made a joke of like it is in some Eastern European countries.

Agree with one or two others, pot calling kettle black IMO and appearing some sort of compettion with a "I'm not as racist as you" trophy for the winners!
The English FA it's manager & some players sound plain daft to me & need a dose of reality out of their super rich bubbles. AFAIK not one of them made any big deal about Gus Mafuta suffering apalling racist abuse from his own fans at Hartlepool the other week.Rogered Tart likes this. -

Why is everybody overreacting to the mindless act of a small number of thick young Bulgarian men who likely have no job, money, and probably can't even spell the player's names. It's a tiny, microscopic number and they are clearly dregs of society - you can tell by just looking at them.
It's a hysteric overreaction which is being pushed by our media and everyone is subconsciously just hopping on the band wagon.
What do the views of 15-20 thick uneducated poor Bulgarian blokes matter to anyone?abbomf likes this. -
Lots of adverts on this if you're using a mobile phone but a decent read:

I live in "Eastern Europe". Due to the lack of ethnic minorities here in Estonia (apart from Russians), people don't actually realise they are being racist, because they've not been, or had to, pulled up on it. For example, the word in Estonian for a black person is "Neeger". This is slowly being phased out, but it's still the word used by the older generation, and of course their children. The books kids are being taught to read from, still have that word in the text. When Estonians are told that it's a word that shouldn't be used, they are confused. They are not being racist (per say) they are just using "their" word for a black person.
The problem we have now, is that people ARE being openly racist in Estonia, because more people of international origin are coming to live here (God knows why - its freezing!). As it's a small country of 1.2 million, the right wing government are stirring up a storm about loss of language and loss of identity, and unfortunately quite a few Estonians are buying it. Plenty of videos of Indians and blacks being abused and told to "go home" on ex pats FB groups are popping up. Not just based on colour either - it's been told to me a few times. It's all about fear really - something that a lot of these former Soviet countries still carry in their DNA.abbomf likes this. -

By that logic, the collective racist incidents in English football lately is representative of millions of people in England?Bronco likes this.
