    Common sense.

There are approximately 740 Million people living in Europe. Even if we play this extra, extra, extra cautious and assume that only 0.005% percent of the European population hold racist views then we're still looking at a number well into it's millions. If you want though, we can pretend that we live in a near perfect society and whittle the millions down to its hundreds. That's hundreds of people who your "who cares" attitude is sending the wrong message to and will only encourage further. Brushing over a problem does absolutely nothing to solve it.

No, the small number of Bulgarian fans being racist does not reflect the entire population of Bulgaria (I'm not sure how you've come to that conclusion?) it reflects those that share similar racist opinions and the increasing problem we have with this sort of behaviour at sporting events-obviously. I'm not sure that needed explaining?

I agree a discussion should involve everybody, including those it doesn’t affect so they are able to gain a better understanding and potentially improve a given situation.

However, a discussion about racism between a group of white males doesn’t really carry as much weight as it would if that discussion included victims of racism themselves.

You said 15 people in a stadium is reflective of hundreds and thousands of people across Europe.

That is an absurd, unfounded conclusion based on nothing. “Common sense” is not evidence.

I don’t agree with your first point in saying that black communities are “blinkered” I think that’s quite generalistic and in my opinion their view on police racism is very justified.

I do agree with your second point in that a discussion ought to include everybody as it will then carry more weight and will be a more constructive discussion.

I'll rephrase it for you "Brushing over racism does nothing to help solve the problem within Europe". No numbers in there, and the point is EXACTLY the same as I've made in my previous 2 posts, which you've chosen to ignore to be needlessly pedantic.

Anything to help you win an argument eh?

Now you’re just making a whole new (obvious) statement in an vain attempt to hide the fact the one in question is utter nonsense.

nb You’re the one editing your posts to win an argument pal.

I said 'can be blinkered' not that it’s always blinkered. A black guy gets shot robbing a bank at gun point and Black Lives Matter are calling for the offices badge.

Most police shootings happen when someone is committing a violent crime and there is a disproportionate number of violent crimes committed by the Black community. Also assaults on police are more common by the Black community so naturally approaching a black person the cops are going to be more on edge which is not going to be helpful especially if the person starts acting irate (which because of the perception of racism in the police is more likely). Black areas also have bigger issues with gangs and the illegal guns (and gang shootings) that go along with that.

So police shootings in the US are a much more complex situation that the likes of BLM ignore when they label any shooting of a Black guy as a racist. When you are ignoring other factors because you are too close it that’s blinkered and problematic as some of the causes simply don't get dealt with

You're correct - it's not true. There are actually millions of racist people across Europe, not hundreds of thousands.
Doing nothing about this gives a clear message to those people that racism isn't a big deal, so carry on regardless.
As to what should be done, that's more complicated and I'm not sure I have any off-pat answers. But doing nothing is surely not one of them.

Sorry, but why have I had 4 posts deleted from this thread?

I thought I brought up some valid points.

Why didn't you just take the swear word out if was upsetting you so much? Surely that's better than needlessly deleting 4 posts?

Perhaps there's a possibility that instead of constructively debating you decided to call me:

    - thick
    - deluded
    - a b£llend
    - full of sh!t

    etc.

I think you are treadding into dangerous waters here.

There are many documented cases of unarmed black people being killed for little reason.

The problem with your arguments is it puts onus on the victims.

The answer is for the Bulgarian FA to introduce a membership scheme for tickets for international games where you must register online with a photo and ID, Much like the scheme Thatcher introduced in the UK to rid most of the violence from the game, EUFA and FIFA to assist them and others as needed to do this

Did Thatchers scheme ever actually start. I remember it being discussed but I was young

Yes all fans had to register with the club, stopped violence and led to the game as it is now along with all seater stadiums and video surveillance

The only one that was against site rules was the bełlend bit, the last one didn't happen and 2 of them were related to a wider point with maybe one needless sentence at the end. At best, all he had to do was edit out a couple of sentences and the rest of the material consisted of perfectly valid discussion and a bit of harmless arguing that is fairly standard for forums. There were a couple of choice words in there but deleting 90% of my content seems a bit excessive for something that could have been sorted out in under 2 minutes,

Also If you want constructive debate don't:

*accuse me of editing my posts and changing the argument in a feeble attempt to win a debate. I don't do that and I seriously doubt anyone else does either. I'm just a sloppy typer and often miss out the odd word, make typos etc

*misquote/ misunderstand everything I say, get fixated on things that don't matter, avoid the main discussion point and deny the obvious.

Do that, and there's plenty of constructive debate to be had without the abuse.

    Thanks.

Interesting thread. You can try all the sanctions going but you will not stop racism. It's part of human nature, the divide and conquer scenario. Where we have a world defined by boundaries and division racism will exist.
