Coventry left their 30000 seat stadium and played at 10000 capacity Sixfields. Took a hit on crowds and dropped to league 2. Forced their landlords to back down and now they sit nicely pushing for promotion to the PL

You do realise that we have more season ticket holders than the Shay has capacity?

The only realistic options would be Elland Road or the John Smiths. Neither of which would go down particularly well, even if those clubs would show us to share.

I can't even see it financially making that much difference either if I'm honest.

It won't happen like it or not we have nothing to force Gibb/Pension funds hand, you do come up with some weired suggestions for ground sharing, at least we getting nearer Braford, are you suggesting we help extend th Shay as I'm not sure it could hold our home based fans.
Maybe you would limit our home attendance, Fordy would have a field day with your latest suggestion, share with a none league side and train using a schools facilities.
    Are you really a businessman?.

Alternatively they also play the game and put it up for sale for redevelopment, request planning permission for change of use due to no current tenant.

Our attendances are inflated due to cheap prices.
If season tickets were priced at the going rate we’d easily fit into the Shay.
Getting rid of landlords and owners is not easy but clubs like Coventry , Blackpool and Rotherham have all done it and are now in much much much better positions than we are.
The alternative is we carry on as we are plodding along in the basement.

Do we actually pay over the odds? I seem to remember last time this conversation was had other clubs eg Coventry and Peterborough were paying more

Industrial or house building. I’m sure a big patch of empty land would have some interest

ive just read it and apparently they wrote to all L2 clubs asking what the highest player was on and then averaged it.
    One player was on £234k

Yes at massively reduced rates so I’ve read.
Anyway, if the rent we pay to Gibb is not to root of our financial restrictions then we need to stop bitching about not owning the ground and ask why we can’t compete financially in league 2.

How will he make profit on the ground, by purchasing it? Please just run that by me?

    What is the ‘going rate’?

I think you will find other clubs in League Two: Orient, Salford, Rochdale and Oldham all have Season Tickets which are cheaper than City.

Sure clubs such as Exeter, charge at least £354 a season, but they had a gate of 4,839 yesterday.

Personally I would rather that we had the ground as full as possible.

Is there any evidence to show we can not compete financially at L2? It has been said previously that we had a better budget than most other teams. We just buy shit

They were paying almost £1.3m a year and got no income from bars etc. So even greatly reduced could still be more than us

Surely those buying the bonds would want a share in the ownership of the ground which would then still be rented back to the club?
