they don't have a ATOL cert either but this could be down to them not selling flights - which is sort of the point of doing a package in the first place.

I don’t think it’s that. I think it’s more of a case of being forced, IF you fancy watching City in Spain. Why make it so complicated and expensive? Allow pay on the day. Make the ticket cheaper. Don’t come down heavy handed and exclude City fans who are already there. Don’t just spring up an unregistered travel company and expect people to trust it. Don’t try and coax money out of fans who might have spent money going down to London. Etc etc. The timing, communication and shear opportunism sucks.

 

A good workout after a hard week of pre season training against a team close to premiership quality. But once again it looks like we are sticking with these awaful tactics putting ourselves under needless pressure.
Looks like we are stuck with it for the season so I fear for us

 

Glad to hear Pointon did well again last night, I didn’t see the game but against Bury he had very quick feet, close ball control and a quick speed of thought. Something not that common in the lower leagues. Hope to see more of the lad, hope he continues to impress.

 

I get what you're saying Park but before MH's arrival I was equally frustrated at us just hoofing it up the pitch to Cookie for a knock down to no one and the ball almost immediately coming back into our final third.
MH wants us to play a certain way and I think can't see him changing his approach anytime soon.
What we need to get better at is moving the ball quicker up the pitch. The frustration is we stop to often before the half way line and go backwards, slowing the game down, allowing the opposition time to regroup and pick the ball off us.
For me Halliday was the worst offender for this last season. He seemed to get a nose bleed if he took it over the half way line and was always looking for the square ball.

I think we might be over reacting here. Yes it does sound unprofessional at the least offering trips via a mates company that was formed in the last couple of months. But they are only asking for an expression of interest and reading through this thread I think they will have their answer.

This is an atrocious ploy by Sparks and friends to make a few quid out of hard working football fans, all that way to watch a City team of trialists & youth players against a Spanish 3rd tier team that absolutely nobody has heard of

Absolutely despicable this by the club, and any fan that takes them up on this "opportunity" either has money to burn or is f*cked in the head!

Friendlies in Scotland were always VERY well attended. Even a midweek in Dundee….

 

It was abundantly clear before the game we weren't going to have a lot of the ball. Glynn Hodges said so.
TBF apart from the goal they haven't exactly carved us open.
It's a good test against a top level opposition we won't encounter in the UK and in weather you won't see in West Yorkshire

Second half Lewis, Halliday, Hendrie, Taylor, Odusina, Ridehalgh, Osadebe, Smallwood, Walker, Pointon, Derbyshire.

 

I'm going to stick my neck out...I think Osudabe could be an important player for us this season in midfield rather than out wide left.

It’s only a rumour I very much doubt Barnsley can come up with the cash city would want with one year first team experience he isn’t worth it. He is far more valuable to us

 

Looks like there was a decent following in Spain.

 

The beer in the fanzone was 3 euros a half pint. About 10 of us walked to a nearby complex despite threats we would not be readmitted. A local shop did a roaring trade of litre bottles of beer at 3 euros

 

I'm guessing the Spanish teams fans won't have to buy tickets in a "package" and whilst I wouldn't risk it, I think you'll be more than fine to pay for entry on the turnstiles.

Why on earth would the Spanish club turn down the money?

This smacks of the club negotiating a cheap deal and trying to strong arm the fans into paying for it. It also leaves a bad taste imo.
