Pre-season Friendly - Getafe CF (Spain) v Bradford City

New venue just looks like a Goals type complex, but with the sun, and some steps.

 

I'd expect this "Top flight Spanish side" to be a collection of people wearing Getafe shirts at best.

 

Pinitar Arena has multiple pitches, nobody said we were playing on the main pitch. Quite a story to come up with and even get Pinitar Arena in on it by posting the fixture on their website

 

It'll be Getafe B at best.

July 8 | Start of the preseason at the Ciudad Deportiva.

July 10 | Preparation concentration in Olive.

July 14 | Getafe CF – Bradford City. Friendly match in Oliva at 7:00 p.m.

July 15 | Return to Getafe from the concentration in Oliva.

 

Hm? When I did I say we were never going to pinitar? can you please point to where in my message where I said or even implied that?

to me it looks like we booked the main pitch for 5pm and then realised that Birmingham are playing there at 8pm.

not sure if Birmingham need their own fan zone or its a worry due to potential crowd issues.

it is possible we moved up there as thats where getafes preseason camp is but I never suggested we were never going to Pinitar. Again no idea how you came to that conclusion.

 

It will be treated with the same kind of respect of team we send to Park Avenue.

 

Might be innocent mistakes, but to back up the *@?$ up theory, City have confirmed they will still train at Pinitar for the week leading up to the game and we are still based around that area at a sports hotel complex. The team will now just travel a few hours out to the other place for the match.

Getafe did the exact same thing last year, filling in for a game against Preston after another ground mess up, the game ended up being played on training pitches at a golf complex.

 

Surely it would have been much easier to find a decent championship club to play here at home rather than this circus.

The circus isn't the match itself, its trying to make some money out of getting people to pay for a package that includes a match that will be rolling teams, played in super heat on a pitch that is basically no better than University of Leeds sports ground.

Absolutely right that we should have a match of some description at the end of the training camp, but it was foolhardy and greedy to sell packages for people to go watch it. It should have just been a free for all, turn up if you are in Spain by all means.

You said Pinitar Arena was booked up and you've just said it looks like we booked the main pitch. Nobody has said we booked the main pitch. Do you think when we booked with Pinitar Arena they might have noticed there was a fixture clash if we both booked the main pitch?

 

So you cant answer the question as to where i said we never booked it in the first place... Ok.

I guess we can look forward to endless tweeting and quoting about Getafe now for the next couple of weeks.

 

how is playing a game an hour after ours ended a fixture clash in the eyes of pinitar arena?

I specifically mentioned the potential issues of the fan zone and crowd concerns.

can you please read my posts fully before commenting next time?

can you verify that the seating arrangement at the other pitches at pinitar are first available and secondly can accommodate the number of fans that are coming?
