So do I , remember I posted that the letter is an amalgamation of responses to address the multiple critical failures we can all see, when in reality it could have been encapsulated in a couple of sentences.

We won’t progress without investment. We won’t ever be self sustainable without success on the grass.

    Both go hand in hand.

We all want the same outcome…Rupp hopefully now realises, without investment, we won’t progress.

One immediate problem, Gibb has no need to sell, irrespective who owns our club Inspector.
I wouldn’t if I were in his shoes.

Bang on this. It's why I'm pretty sure there isn't a debt free successful club in the football league. But this could be applied to any successful business, not just football. It's why our public services such the railways are held together with sellotape because of lack of investment.
The word debt shouldnt scare anyone, it's part of business. Debt and sustainability can go hand in hand quite happily if run by intelligent and competent people.

Why would he do that? A sliding scale depending on which League we are in seems fair?

And yet this garbage model is a lot more successful than our non-policy garbage?

You seem to be skirting round the fact that MK Dons are one of many, many teams performing better than us year on year, and we're trying to catch up to them?

Ah but they are only performing better because of this illusionary “style and vision” and owner multi million£ sponsorship . The owners other businesses are bankrolling huge footballing losses .

I asked you a couple of questions earlier JB which would have added some semblance of understanding the debate and issues at hand?

    Did you miss it…..?

It does, but think of one that brings the pension fund the same income as he’s getting now. Hardly likely when interest rates are rock bottom?

There are many other clubs successfully implementing a style and vision that are doing even better than MK Dons.

Is there a club with an obvious plan that are doing worse than we are?

Forest Green maybe? A tiny club I don't even recognize from their history as non-league nobodies?

Come on, Kevin. This is a highly competitive sport, you have at least know what you're trying to do if you want to be in the mix.

When you don't you end up like Oldham or Bury. Stockport have a vision right down to the revamp of the ground in stages. It will be based on success and that's not guaranteed, but theyve had to sink a fair bit of investment to get to where they are now. Same with Wrexham, Chesterfield et al. Even Barrow, it's a very interesting read of how the owners have taken a small side floundering in non league to the edge of the automatic spots. It takes years of hard behind the scenes work, you can't just throw eleven players on the field and demand the just 'run harder', something I hear regularly on the terraces. The eleven on the field is the last piece of the jigsaw, if the others are missing or don't fit don't expect those being asked to run harder to make it all right

Do you have a link to FGR’s “ Visionary Style of Football” as you used them as a potential example.

Troy Deeny was in place about 5 weeks, six games lost , no wins. That recruitment to this vision worked well?

(Not their green philosophy which has zero to do with football. )

Back where we started a vision based on continual success. The success brings investment. Investment brings success . One fails the other fails.
This was debunked last time as having no plan B . A classic example.

Just listened to Sharp’s first interview, lots of talk of having a long term plan in place. Good to hear, can’t believe people think things just happen transfer window to transfer window, talked about Mansfield’s promotion being years in the making etc. well worth a listen for those who haven’t.

How did Stockport get out of national League north? How did Wrexham get out of the national league after 18 seasons in the doldrums? Despite all the money it didn't happen straight away for Wrexham, they could have gotten rid of Parky after being beat in the playoffs but they stick with their plan. Why are the likes of Chelsea and Man Utd now headhunting why they perceive to be the best folk behind the scenes despite spending vast fortunes without any recent success? Because you could run a coach and horses through their off field game plan.
A plan needs capital, more importantly it needs the right people to implement it. Seems Rupp (although I suspect the decision was made by others associated with the club) to bring in fresh faces with new ideas.
    I hope it brings improvement.

It's where we went completely wrong this season and that was down solely to Mark Hughes. And it's where if we'd had a football director in place I'd have expected him to question why he was going to rip up the play book when it only needed tweeking in certain areas.
