Have you seen the planning processes in this country? We'd be lucky to have the plans allowed through in three years. We will sign a new lease and it will be in favour of Gibb cos we hold no cards. We ain't moving to another stadium as there isn't one close by that can be used with the right capacity. And besides if this team has to play outside of Bradford for a prolonged period of time it would be a disaster.

Anyone can ask pertinent questions , yet not offer a viable solution. And yes comparing ourselves to others IS a viable benchmark , how else do we learn best practise?

Do you not think these questions are the responsibility of the club to answer rather than supporters?

We’ve had 20 years to establish a credible plan. 20 years. Enough is enough.

We’re surrounded by clubs with whom a deal for a year or two could be struck. Ideal, probably not, but much better than another have-your-pants-down lease. Many, many other clubs have found the means to build their own stadium, and we have - what, the 7th biggest city in the country? The Odsal/Richard Dunne is a prime location, but there’d be others.

The bottom line is, we need to drastically change this ‘no can do’ mindset that pervades the club. Otherwise, what’s the point?

You’re probably right, sadly. As I say though, we’ve had 20 years. Other clubs have endured equally bad or ever worse financial mires than we had, recovered and rebuild in quicker and better fashion.

To be fair most of those, the likes of Luton, Coventry etc, they have a history of being at a successful level. The desire to be a success again is there, we simply don't have that. If it wasn't for big Geoff i suspect we'd just have been a club like Rochdale that floated around league 2 with the odd flirt into league 1.

So you agree we are stuffed where the ground is concerned…… You do right to ask the question , fair enough , but you weren’t being realistic sorry. If we have nowhere to go , then Gibb would be a nutcase to sell , let alone on the cheap when he’s protecting income for his family / staff pension fund for 25 years just by sitting on what he already owns.

I was talking to someone today about ice hockey. He told me a rumour is going round that the council / City of culture fund is considering chucking millions at a new ice rink / ice stadium inside Richard Dunns. It's a while since I've been but I expect VP seems state of the art compared to the Silver Blades

There maybe a clause in the original agreement that we as a club have the right to buy the ground back at market value determined by an independent assessment. Who knows, I would like to think we as a club and Rhodes in particular would not have done something like that or why not have sold for ever?

Unfortunately, we don't have a buyback option. That could have been a good outcome. We do however have an option on its termination date to extend the current lease on the current terms. I don't recall what the length of the 'new' lease would be.

The challenges extend to lower attendances whilst we are temporarily relocated.
If it means we get 3000-4000 at home games playing at Rochdale then so be it if it removes the noose from our neck that is the VP rent

The 7th biggest city gives a false impression. It's the metropolitan area and most of that area land wise would rather not be associated with the polished turd that is Bradford. And a lot of the area touches on borders with bigger clubs such as Leeds, Burnley and Huddersfield. Let's be honest, the sporting teams of the city pretty much mirror the place itself.

    Well done.
I hope you aren't suggesting I don't hold my hands up when I'm wrong because I always do. I don't expect people to give me a pat on the back for doing it though.

Yes, but we're stuffed because of incompetence and disinterest, not because it's an insurmountable problem.

Not like our local council to make nonsensical decisions that piss money up a wall, is it?
