Peterborough replay

So true WIlsden, and thats 3 draws v Peterborough in recent weeks which is certainly an improvement. Just hope tonight has not taken too much out of the boys, both physically and mentally. But we have to be positive about creating over 30 scoring opportunities and hopefully we can tighten our defence up in under 3 weeks time

 

Ah but does that cost ?.

It can piss you off when your watching the game on Ifollow and there at least 30/45 seconds behind.

 

Hopkin has just said that Ben Wilson made a fantastic save but others didn't react quickly enough after that.

 

Thought Miller deserves special mention for tonight's performance. He ran his socks off and got his goal. Chicksen and Wilson were below the standard required but the others deserved a win from that.

 

I suppose the irritating "take the positives from the game" comes to mind but in our predicament I think playing league games is important to hopefully catch up.If we had a good cup run we could fall further behind even though we'd accrue games in hand.

I think I'd rather see us moving up the table especially after signing some decent defenders,winger/s and a target man goalscorer in Jan.

 

Always turn the notifications off! Although it does impress my kids that their dad has such great football knowledge, that he can see a goal coming approx 30 secs before it happens

I’ve not come away from VP very often this season feeling optimistic. We outplayed Posh for long periods and played some great stuff going forward and through midfield. No point mentioning the defence because it’s just crap

Akpan, Miller, Caddis and Payne had their best games in a city shirt for me

We might just get out of this with a decent left back and Centre back

 

7 goals in two games and no wins is criminal.

 

Just got back,our defending was shocking,peterborough could easily have had another 3/4 goals in extra time.

 

What word is defencely?

 

So from what I gather all we need is one new left back and one new centre back in January and relegation will be avoided.. The people wo actually believe the 7 goals we have conceded are down to just two players/positions really need to start watching more football before they post.

Ok so that must be aimed at me so I’ll clarify we need 2 new defenders at the very least. Obviously we need to strengthen in other areas but I was implying that on tonight’s evidence we looked capable of holding our own up front and in midfield.

 

We played well apart from those few minutes when they scored the first 2. Cant believe the ref once again and the lines woman, dross. I took a mate who is a Middlesbrough fan and he simply said the ref was awful.

I think as a club we should appeal, the first goal was rolling when he took it. it was taken 10 yards inside our half when the foul was made in their half. The foul that led to it wasnt even a foul. This really irks me because we have lost games based on these decisions.

Our defending was awful at times no doubt but the ref was terrible.

 

It wasn't aimed at anyone directly. While I agree we are capable of decent periods of play during a game we are still far too weak all over the pitch. It is encouraging that we have scored 7 goals in 2 games but ultimately we didn't win either game and one of those was against a very poor Plymouth side. Although we had a fair bit of the play tonight, Posh SHOULD have had at least another 2, especially the Godden open goal and David Balls goal was a gift from the Posh defender.
Chicksen isn't great but he has zero support in front of him and people asking for Wood must know that defensively he isn't much better. Its the same with the back 4, they have a very weak 6 players in front of them, not doing enough to stop the opposition getting forward.
It looks like Hopkin will be given the chance to bring in some players which is great but I haven't been overly impressed with Caddis or Henry to be honest and unless we get at least 4 points from the next 2 games then not many players are going to be interested in signing for us.

 

What about the 2 other goals they scored and the other 2 they should have scored. Blaming the ref is fine but its not really relevant when we have just shipped 4 goals at home.
