I didn't go to the game so Evans might be right, but I've just listened to his interview and am flabbergasted. He said he's never seen a more one sided game except for the first 10 minutes. So I decided to look on the BBC to see the stats, which yes I know doesn't always tell the full story, but the had 58% to our 42% but we had twice as many shots on and off target as them and the main stat is 1-1. Even in 16-17 when we at time had 70% and 20 shots in a game and drew sometimes at home McCall never got so dramatic.

Evans really is a to55er, if he believes what he said yesterday then, going by them stats he really doesn't know football even with his past achievements. He sounded like a desperate man to me, which is strange considering where they are, maybe the chairman is putting pressure on him after splashing out and letting him overhaul the squad?

 

Evans talking shit as usual, complaining there was a foul for our goal but doesn't mention their goal was about 2 miles offside.

Their chairman got it right in his assessment. He thought they were shit and O'Donnell had the most easy game he'll have all season. For all their possession in the middle of the pitch, they created next to nothing.

 

The big kicker is next week against Oxford. We lose that and Gillingham beat Luton and we will be ten points from safety with our woeful goal difference. Next week is a must win. No other result is acceptable. We would have to pull back pretty much the same amount of points we have accumulated all season just to reach safety if we lose. Gonna be some game next week.

 

We must gain on whoever is 5th bottom. If that's a point and we're then six points away - I'm reluctantly OK with that, but yes we must start winning at home in particular. Next few matches are against teams where our squad is arguably as good - we need to show it

 

Evan's post match comments were some of the most hilarious comments I've ever read on a Saturday night. It was like Jack Dee at his driest

 

Evans is always the same. Does well to get sides out of this league but has to sign 18 new players on big money to be able to do it. Did the same at Mansfield but couldn’t get them promoted.

At these two levels you can get away with just having better players but as you move up you need something else about you as everyone has good squads, and that’s where he fails

 

Put O'Connor up top. Job done.

 

NKP clearly fouls one of their players in the build up to our goal, so he is correct there. Their goal being miles offside?, not sure about that. The camera angles I've seen are inconclusive.

 

Sounds to me like Evans is feeling the pressure from the boardroom. Despite what looks like a good team their stats suggest they are lucky to be where they are. I can see them dropping out of the playoffs.

 

Wonder what Fordy thinks to that suggestion as O'Connor is one of his 'favs' (not)!!

 

Reminds me of our last half decent right back, this team needs a nasty b**t**d in there!

 

TBF I thought they had at least 65% possession but ,apart from aimless crosses, they rarely troubled our goal.
They have some tricky skillful pacy players but didn't seem to have that killer pass. Plus we defended really solidly.

I am not ok with a point, it's just putting off the time when we need 3 points. I don't think many saw the reality of our situation until we were 7 points adrift, I'm sure some still think we are in false position! It was very good point at Posh, but other clubs are fighting too and as good as the point was, it didn't close the gap on 5th bottom. We need 3 points next Saturday without a doubt.

It's practically a whole new team though and they are doing a tad better than ours. I like Evans and would have been happy for him to be at VP. He is very demanding and we are not.
