Well Mr & Mrs Johnson and Sunak are all being fined for attending gatherings in No10. At the moment the fine seems to be for the Birthday incident which is possibly the bottom tier of parties that took place, so I would guess there is more to come as surely the other gatherings such at those in the flat will carry out additional fines.

Kicking it into the long grass was only going to do one thing, delay what we will no doubt see in tomorrow's papers.

They have managed to delay it till Parliament is closed though.

I do keep hearing that he is the first PM to have broken the law whilst in power but currently he hasn't admitted it so technically he hasn't until he accepts the FPN, but even then I don't think he will quit and the Tories seem to have lost interest in sacking him

If he didnt go when david davis called for him to go with that quote nothing will make him leave, it was probably naive on davis' part trying to appeal to johnson's sense of civic duty

I’ve said it before. I couldn’t give a shiny shite about the parties. I can only imagine them being a load of crap anyway. It’s the lying and wriggling that’s sticks, that, and the genuine two faced-ness of the anger that would be met to any member of the public doing something similar at the time. They’re just lucky they got found out after a significant amount of time.

Was discussing this with someone last night. What can we do? The system is created for those at the top, you try and fight it and they close ranks. I'd be more than happy to participate in civil disobedience if I thought it would make any sort of difference.

I wasn't bothered about the birthday cake incident before and I'm still not bothered about it today. I can't be a hypocrite.

I'm glad the police have taken action if they feel the line has been crossed. Gives me confidence that a thorough process was undertaken.

understanding that when a massive bellend stands up in front of the nation and tells the country that we can’t do this or that while people are dying then no matter what he or that party say they won’t be getting my vote until maybe after the next General Election.

I don’t care who takes over but the Conservatives can F@ck off!

Johnson doesn't have a decent bone in his body, nor do his piece of shit family. Everything that's wrong with the world encompassed in one fat blonde carcass.

Of all the gatherings mentioned the one for which this fine has been raised for is in my opinion the one that should least likely have a fine.

I'm not bothered about a quiz on zoom to keep up moral at what must have been a dire time, getting drunk on zoom calls was the thing to do back then.

Like has been said above, it's not really what happened here with a piece of cake and wishing a happy birthday. It's the repeated lying to claim it never happened.

To my knowledge the only person who has lost their job is the one person who joked about a party she wasn't at, everyone who attended the parties she joked about are still in position.

The "Abba party" in the private residence is the real piss take if it happened. There is no "work" or didn't realise it was a party excuse there.

The thing I can't really forgive is knowing the risk and then doing all this, at least have the curtesy to no impose rediculous restrictions on everyone else. I know others don't feel this way because many people still want the government to impose restrictions on us still.

several of the civil servants who were fined have been long gone form no.10 for a while, as these initial parties were their leaving dos. the word doing the rounds is these are just the first set of fines and its going to get worse for him.

There is a difference between leaving on your own free will and then having a leaving do which triggered a fine to joking about a party you weren't at and then being forced to walk the plank. When those you refer to actually left it wasn't due to parties during lockdown.

:joy::joy: Tories now watching midget porn while in the House of Commons.

You couldn’t make it up and we are meant to vote for these jokes! Anyone who votes for them are a mug.

Saying that though it is funny.

Funny how they want the accused sacked for it. If Johnson can get away with every scandal under the sun, Brexit, Covid, the care home scandal etc then someone watching a bluey on his phone is the least of our worries.
