In may 2020 my lasses grandad died. We knew he was on the way out for the week up to the day he died. Nobody was allowed to see him other than her mum. She had to stay with him in his house for days until it happened. The rest of the family had to stay away. After he died we had to wait until september for his funeral. This was a good man, a conservative, an ex firefighter from the 50s, 60s and 70s.

Sure a party isnt in isolation isnt that bad a thing. But when everyone else had monumental sacrifices to make then it becomes a bad thing. Indefensible.

Johnson hiding behind the Police now, and refusing to confirm he will release the full Gray report when the police investigation is over. Word has there are over 300 photos of such events which were found within the report. This man has no shame.

I have honestly never been more completely embarrassed and ashamed of the people that run our country. May had her faults but my issues with her were largely ideological, and she always at least carried herself with a semblance of seriousness the PM's office deserved. This lot are a fecking disgrace and shame on anybody that continues to support them.

Nadine Dorries is simply there to make Boris look competent.

Its the only possible explanation :joy:

Forget Partygate, letting Dorries on national TV after she's emptied the sherry cabinet should be a sacking offence.

The worst Nadine Dorries interview (Yes as if the one mentioned earlier isn't a car crash in itself) is the one for Channel 4, see below.

Not all Tory MPs are backing Boris, this is a former cabinet minister and chief whip who is calling out what is quite clearly a desperate attempt at defending his behaviour. I have to say his comments about Jimmy Saville yesterday were way beyond common decency and is no better than a cheap facebook claim with no substance.

I'm sure the Savile thing was meant as a shot across Starmers bows. It was probably intended to show that the person at the top is not always responsible for the failings of the people below them and to take that line of attack away on some of the party accusations.

In typical Johnson fashion though he absolutely botched it when any degree of nuance is needed and it coming out as a flippant attack was just ridiculously wrong. It's the sort or easy attacking statement that lead to me disliking the more "student militant" aspects of the Labour Party over time and its I'm glad that other Tory MPs are calling him out on it.

yeah i researched that claim as my dad likes to spout it from time to time and it turns out he had nothing to do with the decisions r.e saville. That and trying to imply the labour frontbench have a drug problem just showed what a disgusting excuse for a human being johnson is. As I said when he got in, he will drag that office through the gutter and he emphatically has done with no sign of stopping.

Is he doing PMQs today or is he still in Ukraine? Tobias Ellwood has anounced he has submitted a letter of no confidence in the PM today and many are still annoyed with how low the PM will go to save his own skin and the Jimmy Saville reference seems to have backfired more with his own party. Not only that people who suffered abuse from Jimmy Saville are disgusted by the comments from the PM feeling they are being used as political pawns.

Based on latest allegations, I have to say "Mamma Mia", "Money Money Money" won't make this go away. He is hoping we will "Take a chance on me" but it does look more and more like he will need to send out an "SOS" to help save him due to all "The Visitors" who visited his flat. "When all is said and done" "The king has lost his crown" and he isn't the "Super Trouper" he thinks he is. "So Long" because "If it wasn't for the nights" it's time to "Move On" so "Gimme Gimme Gimme" a new PM, one worthy of holding the post.

They are trying to spin it as Boris clearing the decks.

Sunak has done the most damage today. The only one in the cabinet who has admitted the comments about Saville shouldn't have been said and pretty much refusing to answer questions about him. I think he is starting his bid for leader. The story about the first resignation came from the spectator who's editor Sunak was best man for at his wedding. Make of that what you will.

Love how much interest and effort the Met are putting in. Sending out emails to ask people questions and to see if they will accept a Fine

We know there are over 300 pictures because the MET have them. We know there are probably more than that elsewhere (possibly in Dom Cummings box of goodies he left with) as Dom Cummings commented yesterday that the current photo doing the rounds is bland in comparision to what is out there including from the flat.

If the MET don't do what they are expected to do, these photos no doubt will make their way into the public eye and people will make their own minds up.

Ministers are starting to look like right muppets defending what went on. This is a classic example of a minister defending the same gathering that took place as a zoom quiz and he repeats several times there was no alcohol. One picture now makes him look a right idiot from his staunch defence.

I actually doubt these ministers actually know what went on. They were probably not there or had no idea so their defence of it is baffling that they are willing to put their neck on the line to defend it.

The parties don't bother me as I didn't have to bury a loved one with only 10 people or miss major life events whilst this was going on. I'll be honest I had a very lucky during the last two year. However to openly lie about it to the extent of saying you didn't know about such parties, any gatherings were within the rules, you were shocked to find out there were parties, to you were at the parties and now you are being investigated for law breaking (to potentially being fined for law breaking) is quite a movement from the original position and it treating the population as fools. I might expect this from a celebrity who consider themselves above the law, but I don't expect it from the Prime Minister of the country, and I doubt any of the Prime Ministers since this or last century would have acted in such a way.

If they've got better pictures of actual parties they need to just get them out there. I don't understand the drip feeding at all. Pictures of actual parties in the flat would have done for Johnson on day one so I really don't understand what is going on.

I'd prefer them to just come out with the real scandal because at the moment I feel like I'm being gaslit into believing that any event which has alcohol - even those on zoom - is a "party" when in my mind it's not at all. Just cut to the chase!!

I think the current MET investigation has put pay to releasing the "better" pictures at present. This is mainly down to it being an active police investigation which is why it was of no surprise that the drip drip of photo's includes the one not being investigated by the MET.

One way or another they will come out, and as it stands it is death by a thousand cuts which could have been avoided at the start if the PM fessed up and said he was sorry such events took place. His denial they ever happened is the reason they are still front page news because the papers are taking such glee in proving what he said was a lie. It doesn't stick when you put your hands up. No one is talking about the party in the department of education as they admitted it off the bat, as they did with the Tory HQ party.

As I said, they could have released them in day one which was before the MET investigation.

The thing is I don't trust that Johnson is telling the truth however if he says "I wasn't at a party" then showing pictures of him where he isn't at an actual party don't really do anything for me. Just show him at an actual party and have done with it!!
