Long time reader first time writer.

We were shit, but they were shitter. Bruenker shouldn’t be a professional footballer but their defence made him look good. He’s got a weird cult status now with the fans.

Chicksen was awful in the first half but looked better in the 2nd. Caddis was MOM for me. Solid all game apart from one moment in the first half. Experience of Henry showed but he looked a little off the pace. Was it definitely it a red for NKP? Didn’t look too bad from where I was sat.

Nice to have that winning feeling on a Saturday. Hope it continues.

Agreed. Another change at the back again but hope we can limp through with something as we’ve got two very winnable games then in league to come.

I don’t think we were shit. That’s harsh. We didn’t play amazing free flowing football but we won 2-0 and restricted them to very little.

The way we were writing them up on here everyone had them down as an easy away win.

We battled hard and won the majority of our battles all over the pitch. Had two goals ruled out and scored 2 for the first time in a while.

Went down to ten men but still kept a clean sheet.

Brunker is not good enough but Oxford had kept a fair few clean sheets recently and he gave them a hard time. Just praise them when they do well and criticise if they don’t. We don’t have to be overly critical every week.

The football is not going to be free flowing and like Barcelona when we are down there struggling for anything. It’s a long battling road back this season

 

Nope, I didn't say it (a win) was poor, I was very happy with that, I said we (Bradford City) looked poor and I stand by that.

I have to say, it looked like another 3rd division game (which it was) I wasn't expecting anything else tbh (hence my prediction) It is was it is. 3 very welcomed and hard fought points.

 

Just looked at the Oxford forum, homer? In what universe? Their full back was very nearly mating with Breunker on more than one occasion.

Watched the NKP incident several times on the highlights, still have no idea what he did to receive the red, think the ref was conned good and proper.

Granddaughter's first match, she loved it. Won't be her last, she's already asking when we'll be there again.

And I got to take her for her first Bratfud curry, so all in all a good day.

 

Just listened to Karl Robinson's interview. Apparently, they were comfortable, defended well and we cheated. Good to see he's still a deluded tosser.

 

Just seen the sending off and from the sky highlights I couldn't see a swinging arm or intent or dangerous play. I think we'll appeal it and have a good chance of getting it overturned. At least it didn't cost us any points, thankfully

 

My eldest couldn’t believe we scored twice. He hasn’t seen us score at home for ages from the games he has been to!

Glad to see Henry get 90 mins under his belt.

Not seen the card incidents but overall happy with that. We looked dangerous going forward and Kai put himself about.

Lewis O’Brien in particular had a good game. All action. Nice to see Ball score again - his confidence is increasing game by game.

 

Must admit, we have got a bit grumpy in the past when teams have 'managed' the game out. Good to see that we can that.

We had the ball in the net four times (FOUR!!), even if a couple were disallowed. Not sure if the ball was fully over for the second disallowed goal, but the flag was up before the ball was in the net.

They did look comfortable until we scored the two quick goals, but after that I'd say that we were comfortable.

 

From where I was sitting, block B Midland Road, it looked like the ball went dead before it went in the net, therefore the lino was quite correct to rule it out.

Can you imagine the reaction if it had been the other way round, they had scored, and the goal was allowed to stand?

Having said that, it was almost the only thing she did get right....

 

Today was his best game in a City shirt. A respectable 6/10. Given that every other option up there is shite too, we may as well keep him in. He’s nowhere near good enough, that’s clear. Can’t fault his effort though.

 

I dont think oxford were that poor, They passed the ball about pretty well and were slick in passing, yes we stifled them but i would say they were marginally the better team but we took our chances well. Overall we are getting better and i dont believe we will go down and when DH gets his players we will climb the table.

 

We were awful for 20 mins, scored 2 goals against the run of play and then both sides were average.

Poor in an attacking sense. But resilient for the most part, and the players are clearly fitter.

It was Brunkers best game. But that in itself illustrates why we are where we are. He was a 6/10, largely for endeavour and winning a few headers.
