Out of contract players

All in the mind from what i've been told about Chapman from someone who knows him well. Was only talking to a scout the other day who said Man City looked at him early on in his career as he was scouting for them at the time. Problem for any club looking at him they are getting a player on the decline and its hard to stop that decline when its been over a few years.

Yeah I think he'll end up having an upgrade on Barrow. Suppose it depends on who stays and what system we use. I could see us trying to move on Oduor, see if Walker gets a deal, if a big offer comes in for Pointon? If GA cleans house, he might go to his usual 433? Then we would need some depth. Fun of the summer guessing game begins!

 

See Lee Evans released by Pompey. Good player on his day - did well for us all those yeard ago. Last 2 years ravaged by injuries though.

 

Feel like we’ve missed a trick somehow, and not seen the best of Chapman. I’ve always liked him and sadly it’s just not worked for him with us.

I maintain had he not got injured at Swindon we might have got promoted last season. As soon as we lost him we lost all the balance as we had no replacement.

Assuming he’ll be released, hope he lands a decent enough opportunity to get his career back on track. Has the ability to be one of those who haunts us in future meetings……let’s see

 

He played in the same youth teams with Platt and was always a confidence player. I think I quoted someone who knows him when he signed, and was told if we could get his head right we’d have some player. Unfortunately for a lad with his skill he just doesn’t have that hunger to succeed. If it is Hartlepool where he ends up it wouldn’t surprise me.
