I thought that Callum made some very mature statements and has made his own expectations for next season clear to everybody. I trust that his own expectations are shared throughout the club including by the owner and the CEO.

I agree with Ryan on the Salary Cap. Utter joke clubs are even talking about now. Get it right before putting it on the table. Park it for a year or so till it's right.

He can be as firm as he likes.

You have heard managers been firm before and next thing the player has gone.

Look, I want Vaughan to stay but I also heard Ryan say Rupp is loaning us money, we are struggling still, no revenue coming in etc etc and for me we will reduce the wage bill if we can.

If Vaughan stays I am made up but I doubt he will be.

You said you didn't bet? Sure you did.

Ok, come the close of the transfer window in October. Vaughan won't be here...You are on.

You don't understand. Rupp owns BCAFC 100% so he isn't lending money to anyone but himself.

I know what was said tonight but I am about 50/50 whether he will be with us end of the transfer window. The one thing I am more certain about is it will take a more substantial financial offer to prise him away than I perhaps thought beforehand. Lets be frank, its still the case if Vaughan doesn't want to be with us it will make a mockery of the 'team unit' comments made by Stuart and Callum tonight and have an adverse affect on the togetherness. But if Vaughan isnt there I will confidentially predict an adequate replacement will come in in his place (i.e. it wont be left to the others we currently have)
ps as others mentioned Cooke came across really well tonight, I know I was pro his return before it happened but was pleased with what he said and his general demeanour about being back at the club

Why’s that? He had to come in and do a rescue job. Didn’t you hear the bit about heading for administration in Dec 2018? Yes the sale of Ollie McBurnie helped, but there was clearly a lot more done to keep the wolf from the door. I can’t understand why people see Julian in a negative light.

He came in and did the rescue job, you're right. But that's all he's good for - he's a firefighter. Julian is not a man with a vision or strategy appropriate for football in 2020. He cannot and will not move this club forwards.

The elephant in the room was that nobody mentioned whether Vaughan wanted to stay.
The presenters didn’t even bother to ask.
The cynic in me wonders if that was deliberately avoided.

I thought Sparks made it perfectly clear that Rhodes is only acting as caretaker until a suitable CEO can be appointed

I get what you & @Dratsab taf@Dratsab taf are saying about the £1,300 a week, plus the salary cap restricting the number of players..

However football is not only about a basic salary, it is all about ‘bonuses’. I have family, all of whom get an annual bonus, over and beyond their annual salary.

In football there tends to be:
    • Goal bonus
    • Assist bonus
    • Clean sheet bonus
    • Appearance money (not sure if that is an actual bonus)
    • Performance as measured by final place bonus.
    • Potential promotion bonus.
Theoretically you could have sweeteners like car mileage, discounted car hire/pcp etc.

In the past players have apparently been provided with accommodation.

Sponsorship of players is also a potential income stream and probably quite lucrative.

Even small things like free meals at the end of training, mean players are not spending money.

So there seems a lot of scope to enhance players ‘income’ beyond a mere ‘salary’.

The original proposal was for 20 senior players and as many u23 as you want who weren't included in the salary cap
