I now don't give a flying feck. My first game at VP was in the late sixties and I have had a season ticket for too many years to mention. Thanks Dad. I have now found other ways of enjoying my free time and WILL NOT be renewing. £150? Yes, it is cheap, but it is utter shite. A bit like expecting a good meal out on a two for one £15 basis. The club is rotten to the core and is finished. Thanks Rupp and Rahic. End of. Done. Finito. Bollox to it. I simply don't care any more. The players don't and neither do I. Not a penny more. This is all very sad, but feck 'em. I shall crack on and live my life.

 

Absolutely right Onside. The kind of character I want playing for us is one that when given an opportunity to prove a decision made about them that they didn't agree with was the wrong one, they grasp it with both hands, not act like a petulant, spoilt child. I hope some of the other players are man enough to tell him what a pathetic individual he is.

 

Why not put him into stocks in front of the club shop and do it right......................I took that from a very intelligent man who knows football

 

I don't know whether to believe that or not. On balance I think I don't. It reads,as if written by a PR person.

 

A James Mason or Dave Baldwin within the club would be great. Do we have confidence in Rupp and Rhodes ?

BULLS**T, he must think we are stupid! What a mess this club is in, ushering around on the coach to make a statement. Terrible.

 

I think most of us feel that is he was truly focussed on the game he would have been unaware of the state of the armband whatever it was.

 

Load of old bollocks, you can see from the video that the armband was tight around his arm, as others have stated Akpan wore the band with no problem at all, plus who gave permission for him to wear it, was it O'connor or Drury.
I demand to see a photo off the offending armband with the defective stitching.

 

Maurizio Sarri said he had dealt with the Kepa situation, and that was the end of it.

Then dropped him.

Sarri will tell you there's no issue, no problem, he loves Kepa, really happy with him, everyone's moved on, all is well.

This is football.

Official statements will paint a rosy picture.

Surely there aren't many people so gullible they believe O'Connor's story. Some will want hard, concrete evidence of his evil intentions and laugh at the significance of it; fair enough. That's their prerogative.

But if O'Connor gets pelters at the next home game from the people that DON'T believe him, well... that's just too bad. I wouldn't play him again this season, personally, but who knows who will make the call. If it's Drury, maybe he will leave him on the bench after all.

 

Maybe I could agree about it being a valid reason if the armband had been visibly hanging off his arm or was sliding down his arm but it was still very much firmly in place over his sleeve when he reached for it and pulled it off. Akpan didn't seem to experience any issues with it when he picked it up and put it on either, but I guess that might have been because O'Donnell had time to repair it seen as though he had such a quiet afternoon.

 

Or if it was genuinely coming apart, don't just throw it in the net when you are about to defend a corner. Waste a bit of time and upset Pompey's momentum by alerting the ref so that you can go to the bench for a replacement armband or to get it taped up.

 

And what’s more for all the Parky haters in the past this lot wouldn’t have got a job in his side as he only employs characters who could dig in and get results with less ability. The current team is a blot on our proud clubs history. We’ve had the history makers. Now we have another set of history makers for all the wrong reasons. Possibly the worst city team in my time watching the club. And that includes the docherty era.

I've read O'Conners explanation and are prepared to believe him

The question is why do so many of you want to disbelieve him?

Can we give him a break or should we just give up and tell the football league to relegate us? Then you can spend the next two months ranting because at least there would be nothing else to do

 

I’ve watched the incident a dozen times now and it seems to me the way he nonchalantly discarded the armband wasn’t the action of someone trying to make a grand gesture.
He gave an explanation for it we should take him at his word.

 

Grand Gestute! He wasn't aiming to start world war 3!

He disrespected the club and supporters no matter what.

He should of gone to the coaching staff or Drury and explained then given them the armband who would of sorted it in a minute or 2 then taken it back when fixed!

You need so backbone Park as you're as weak as all the players at our club.

Didn't see the Fleetwood match (apathy crept in)
I did go to Walsall and watched how a set of defenders blocked shots put their bodies in the way and were 100% focused on stopping us scoring
On paper the caliber of our defenders is better than Walsall but it just shows what we are lacking (effort, desire and most of all the will to win)
The new manager/ head coach has a hell of a job on his hands getting us out of L 2
How do you motivate "players" who know they will be paid for the length of their contract regardless

 

What gets me is even as a kid playing in the park you wanted 'your' side to win....
Would have thought that this desire would be paramount to any sportsman/woman..
