And what’s more for all the Parky haters in the past this lot wouldn’t have got a job in his side as he only employs characters who could dig in and get results with less ability. After Caddis went off, I was looking to see who was wearing the armband. Ifollow commentary couldnt see it, and we didnt see on the footage OC chucking it off. But doesnt the team need to have a skipper by law? Got to admit, I dont know if Akpan was wearing or not.
Shame on BBC/WYS for not really asking the proper questions.
Shame on Drury for giving the band to OC after Caddis didnt come out. Total bottler just like the radio.

I've read O'Conners explanation and are prepared to believe him

The question is why do so many of you want to disbelieve him?

Can we give him a break or should we just give up and tell the football league to relegate us? Then you can spend the next two months ranting because at least there would be nothing else to do

 

It's one he'll of a tale if he's made it up. Should have got best story at last week's Oscars

You have to ask yourself why on earth he would have the intent you suggest in front of several thousand fans

Actually, if you wanted an overview of this season in a nutshell, here's the stat of the year:

Anthony O'Connor has scored more goals from open play than Eoin Doyle.

That about sums things up for me.

 

Whilst that is true, these are the same players that, in December, looked leagues apart from what they show now.

This squad should not be fighting relegation but because some can’t be arsed,and others just have no respect towards the club, this is exactly where we are

 

We desparately need a face and voice of the club, Julian has never been this and we can't expect him to be this now, he is a man behind the scenes.

There is no chance of getting Dave Baldwin back despite the fact he is Bradford through and through.
James Mason is the man, surely his role could allow him continue with his agency. We need someone apart from Roger Owen to spell out the mess we are in but also rally the fans.
We may frustrated and angry but if we desert the club it is finished.

 

Yes, Akpan 100% took the armband.

The armband was in the back of the net after O'Connor had thrown it in there.

You'd to think what made Akpan pick it up and put it on? Credit to me for doing so though.

 

Akpan was not wearing the armband but a shoulder support under his shirt.

I think it is a diversion tactic. Rather than face up to how utterly shocking we were, we instead create a 12 page thread discussing an armband.

Me thinks we have more serious problems.

But hey, it is has been the most fun thread for a while.

 

We’re not going down because of an armband. We ARE going down because many of our players - our defenders in particular - are garbage, spineless and couldn’t give a monkeys about putting the effort in needed to save our season. And that’s abundantly clear. They deserve stick for their attitudes - they’ve had enough support and it hasn’t made a jot of difference. Sometimes, ‘good support’ is about a justified show of anger to hold those responsible to account and to make clear that we won’t settle for it. It was a key factor in getting shut of Edin and it needs to be a key factor in getting rid of some of these clowns.

 

I’ve watched the incident a dozen times now and it seems to me the way he nonchalantly discarded the armband wasn’t the action of someone trying to make a grand gesture.
He gave an explanation for it we should take him at his word.

 

You got a picture of him with it on as I can not see it on any of the highlights?

 

Having slept on it I think whatever happened should be put behind us - the team and the supporters. I wasn't there and it seems we are now unsure Akpan picked up the armband so very difficult to be 100% certain what went on. We need a new manager in soon who can give all the players a fresh start and see what he can get out of them.

 

With 2 crucial home matches imminent we must have a manager in place by close of business Monday....
