They’ve done very well but need to improve us in the final third as we’re still poor and need to improve as the defence can’t do it every game

They've done very well in making us hard to beat and finding a system that works for the players we had available. And they've got rid of players we don't need and replaced them with viable alternatives. I feel sorry for them as they realised that we needed another forward to play just behind Novak, identified a good candidate, signed him, and then Novak gets injured. It was clear today that Rowe's not a target man so if Novak's out long term we need a replacement frontman or we have no alternative but Donaldson.

I think it’s more to project the joint roles they have. When Trueman was the man before the media in the early days, you’d be mistaken to think he was the Manager and Sellars was the assistant. Now it seems they’ve switched and it’s Sellars turn to face the media. They probably do the same things they’ve always done behind the scenes.

That why if Novak is out long term I think they will switch targets to a centre forward

Why would you even bother to do that? Some people are really maladjusted.

Loving what our young duo are doing and long may it continue, breath of fresh air. Give them a contract and lets enjoy the ride.

    Already am enjoying the ride.
Thinking back to following the Crawley match on here and I was struck by number of posters making comments about how the team actually look like they have a game plan, keeping shape, tracking runs etc. All things that should be a given but for whatever reason missing under SMc/KB. Maybe a one off but no, next game, same sort of comments.
Posters who had clearly fallen out of love with City showing nascent signs of reconnecting (@Faithful Bantam@Faithful Bantam stands out as one- hope you don't mind me tagging you on this, I think the current change in affairs at VP has got you your mojo back). Fast forward a few weeks and it seems now that the vast majority of us are now back in the "positive" side of things with optimism for the future. The wake up call is that we are still near the bottom but by christ, it really does feel like something good is happening. T&S have certainly done more than anyone could have expected. That said, there is still more to be done, on and off the pitch.
I reckon that on Saturday @PlatinumChaosX@PlatinumChaosX will be back to normal, predicting that we'll smash Barrow 4-0. Hopefully T&S will still be in charge.

All I've ever expected is for us to act and run ourselves professionally, to work to a plan and show a degree of ambition. For our side to do the ugly and basic things well as a minimum. Its still early days but I couldn't have really asked for more over the last 6 weeks. Very promising start under Sparks tenure, so let's hope its the sign of things to come. I'm looking forward to our matches again!

I was really pleased to see yesterday that our form from December carried over. That's a big tick for T&S. Especially when the last time we had a mid season break under Hopkins the wheels fell off.
If I was Sparks I'd still want to see how the dynamic duo deal with coming back in a game where we're a goal or more down and how they can bounce the team back from a defeat.
My concern is that this new found confidence could easily disappear if we suffer a defeat. And it may not come back.
But so far the job is theirs to lose - so to speak

The more i see of Trueman and Sellars the more impressed i am. Go about their business in a quiet but confident way.

Likewise. What impressed me yesterday was the manner in which we picked up from our performances in December, despite 3 and half weeks off. That strongly suggests that we aren't just seeing a new manager bounce, we're seeing the product of coaching. And I thought we played a bit more football yesterday too. You can see passages of play emerging. We just need that bit of composure, and a bit more of a cutting edge. I'm excited by what we could become if we land another quality attacking player or two this window.

It's strange really when you think that the reason given for Stuart's contract extension at the time was for consistency - so that the players already here and those to join in January would know who the manager was going to be for a long time. Yet, here we are with interim managers in place and the best January transfer window for years. Go figure.

I wonder if T&S could personally go back to the youth team after having a taste of football league management, should the club appoint a manager?

Good start elsewhere for one of our early favourites for the job, Jonathan Woodgate, won both his first 2 games as caretaker manager at Bournemouth including taking them to quarter finals of FA Cup for the first time in 64 years.
