Next Permanent Manager (now with Poll amended to include Truemen/Sellars)

Always seems to struggle in league 1 but does well at this level, don’t know what to think but I’d personally want more than someone who’ll just take us up for us to then struggle.

Hmm, wonder if any clubs needing a manager might have some interest in a certain duo of newbies who have made a decent start?

They have got a job and are doing it well so far

 

To be honest, I can't see it either but this is a strange business.

 

I sense a slight, but noticeable, change in sentiment following last Saturday's defeat. Suddenly there seems to be a little bit of doubt around the dynamic duo. I've seen a few posts since Saturday refer to the last three games and how those performances had dropped a gear.
Prior to Saturday, there certainly appeared to be more support in terms of nailing down T&S to a contract - and quick. Now, a few managers names have started to be thrown into the ring. Is the T&S love affair starting to wane?

 

I know ridiculous isn’t it that’s why they should be confirmed till the end of the season

 

They already have, Sparks said they weren’t looking for a new manager and they gave them the January window so it’s fairly self explanatory. Although I agree a statement that the job is theirs until the end do the season would be simple and sensible.

 

I've never had this love in with them. For me, the only way they get the job is if they do something stunning like get us in the top six. We should never have been where we were, its all down to stuarts formation and tactics.

I know Hurst has had a terrible start at grimbo, but he's got a shite squad. I think he would (over the course of the full season) get us in the top half, so things are being clouded by five very hard fought wins.

Don't get me wrong, the job they have done is amazing, but they haven't proved anything yet.

 

So if we had have appointed Hurst and he had failed to get us into top 6, by your reasoning we would sack him in the summer?

 

Yeah, you're going to struggle making sense from that post unfortunately.

T and S should have the job until the end of the season, no questions asked, I'd give them a years extension if we're top half, because that's still a miraculous turn around and will have been sustained with a twelfth place or higher finish.

 

Why?

 

I agree about T&S but I wouldn't be looking for a new manager yet. If they get us in the top seven then I would offer them the job plus they THEY would be in a stronger bargaining position.
Every new appointment is shot in the dark, there are no guarantees in management candidates. There are no stand out candidates for the job out there for me.
