The thing is, cos he’s dear to our hearts, those that don’t want him here are just fearing for the repercussions if he fails.

I believe a major factor is he knows the club he will have followed our poor performances and points dropped recently and IMO is the right guy for the present situation, massive lift for most fans Valley Parde will be buzzing on Saturday but as I've posted before I hope its until the end of the season then we review the situation.
Rather ironic Bowyer gets the hook after the Oldham game where Stuart's career finished, beware big James on Saturday he was very much a part of his downfall with Bury along with Miller.

Just until the end of the season, I'm sure their experience would see us over the line to be honest. All decent teams start with a good backbone.

the stark difference is that those who don't think he's the right man will still get behind the club but those who do want him, would be waiting for the new man to fail to say "I told you so" if McCall wasn't appointed.

You know what as a bloke I am pleased Stuart has got another chance in management because he was a great player and is a great guy.
But how many manager would be given six seasons to get it right. Let’s hope he has learnt his lesson from the past and keeps a little distance from the players so we can all be celebrating in May

He is I've been told, Martin Drury is out, now only Rupp to get rid of and we can put these last few years behind us.

dont agree some with agendas even if its mccall.

    i give you @Park bantam@Park bantam

which is extraordinary considering his loyalties to every other city manager or chairperson (mainly rahic).

I think you're right. Expectations are going to be huge and if he falls short, like you say, the repercussions will not be good.

I don't think it's a bad appointment if we are still serious about promotion. McCall should slot in much faster than any other manager. Long term I'm not so sure but until the end of the season we certainly could do a lot worse.

I really think this is the last chance saloon for him. Get it right and he's got a future, get it wrong and we are again going back to the drawing board looking at who will actually change the fortunes at this football club. I was saying to myself, if it was Warnock and it didn't work, then I would really give up in seeing who would actually sort this out.

If you 18000 "fans" will be happy with that appointment then you will very very wrong.

And IF he's does get it, it says a lot of our fans on how they want to hang to the past. No forward thinking. Sentiment. Sad.

If Stuart is back I do hope there is no penny pinching on the back room staff. He is not perfect and requires support in areas. We shouldn’t really invest in ppl being perfect we are not. We all have weaknesses as can be seen even on here.

I would have preferred a duo of Warnock and Stuart, but he will get my full support regardless. I said at the time that you can’t really judge him in the couple of months results before he was sacked as he was completely undermined by Rahic.

Still hasn’t been announced yet, but we can look forward to a much more positive football at VP. I can return to VP which is a relief. Just a word about some of the more negative contributions from posters. I don’t think this is a lazy appointment, I think it has been done out of necessity and that is not lazy that is prudent. I said straight away that sacking GB was a business move. It is ST is the lifeblood of our club for swathes of fans to talk about not turning up and not renewing is s massive crisis, and therefore they just had to move. In crisis you want somebody you know who can deliver the feel good factor and support of the large majority of fans. He he succeeds it will be brilliant and dispel the detractors. If he doesn’t succeed in promotion he still might have stabilised the club.

My message to the Board is this, stop this crisis management and start to plan for this club to start to realise its full potential. Start thinking succession planning, managers, players, structure.

but there will still be excuses made as to why it's not his fault. that's the difference, he doesn't get treated like any other manager.. the only other club that would do this is Newcastle with Keegan. Man United have been poor for years now but you never see them calling for the return of Alex Ferguson.

Hope we are not stuck in a cycle of failure,
One definition of insanity is doing the same thing over and over again, but expecting different results.

if its only till end of the season aka like rangers im happy.

if he is given a transfer window and allowed to have a pre season piss up in germany I will be delighted.

Team bonding, get everyone onside and no Rahic in the background.
