I have strong doubts that Williamson wouldn't been a success with us. We saw with Hughes that the fans, especially at home, don't like the ball being passed around the back and get on the players back when they do. Also the players have said they didn't like it so no guarantee the players would've take to it.
Looking at MK's fixtures since he took over they have been very kind for them, of the 12 games only 2 sides are in the currently top half

Another pint coming your way when we meet again pal, to be honest I thought he was quoting managing the club, but although I don't know what jobs many on here do I know there are some clever people to quote they could run the none football side better I still doubt it.

I think the fans would be happy to watch a passing product, if it was actually good. Look at Burnley, they were told when Kompany came in the play is changing and theres going to be a huge turnover in the squad. Took them about 10 league games to learn it but then romped home. Hughes has a massive turnover of players but it seemed he just didn't hire for the play. Under Hughes, it was so obvious we were crap at it but I think the coaching of the system was really poor under Hughes to be honest. Go back and watch all those defensive *@?$ up goals from the end of last season, especially at home, it felt like there was one per game from March, but the defenders all shaped up one way to get the ball from Lewis. We were either incredibly rigid or the instruction was to face one way and there will either be Smallwood sitting or the other CB available for the pass. So all teams had to do was press out CBs and Smallwood and the team were flustered into giving it away or back to Lewis to launch upfield. We had no plan B if the central pass wasn't on, which lead to boos everytime it got back to Lewis.

Hughes never really committed to a plan, or recruited to it, which again leads to confusion in the fanbase. All fine and good saying you want to play it out from the back, but we bring in players like Oliver, who is a target man (apparently) but certainly wont be the type to score goals in a keep ball tactic. Platts is more a traditional central defender than someone who wants the ball. Smallwood never had a proper CM partner until Gilly came into midfield. It was so many square pegs in round holes for a ball playing tactic to build or gain any fluidity. Williamson seems to want to coach to reset and stick to the plan from what he says. He lets the fans know it's going to be this way and they'll try coach them into working it out. But gave the pre-notion to the fans that sometimes it might not come off, but this is the plan they are coaching and recruiting for. Whereas Hughes had few players to play it out, then wanted his 5 at the back and again didn't recruit wing backs to play it out from and went back to square one.

I don't mind Alexander, he seems a good bloke with a decent track record however in comparison the Williamson was actually a better fit at the time than Alexander was.

We have moved from Hughes signing three teams worth of players, with possession football in mind, to having the same players now being shoehorned into a system which bypasses half of them.

In terms of continuity then appointing Williamson would have made more sense.

22 goals in 11 games also suggests there is some substance to his passing style in comparison to Hughes' goal a game dross.

Regurgitating the same tale here but that is one of the issues with us having no DOF or football brain on the board. We swing from manager to manager, style to style without any planning what so ever

I believe once Walker comes back we will revert to playing a lot more on the grass as they say, but even within that formation there will be times we will go long.

That's a different arguement, I was hoping the position Walker plays could have been covered but as we've seen who ever was drafted into the team came up short.

Notts County like MK Dons have appointed a new manager from non league. Stuart Maynard from Wealdstone.

Be interesting to see how he gets on.

I just cannot see Sparks ever doing this.
