    I've said this before. Hughes was a great player; he played at some of the biggest clubs in Europe under some excellent managers. He must have learned a lot from those experiences. He has managed at the elite level of English football and on the international stage. And yet he leaves a lot to be desired at our level of football. It's my belief that he simply doesn't understand what is required to be successful in the lower leagues with a squad of lower league players. And I don't see it changing.

    With some, Hughes is beyond reproach and it's easier to criticise the players. But the reality is that the current squad is almost entirely built from Hughes' recruits; they are coached and prepared by Hughes and Hughes' staff; Hughes selects the team; Hughes dictates the tactics; they play to Hughes's formation. The performances of the squad are Hughes' responsibilty. Unfortunately, it will be more of the same unless Hughes changes his mindset and his approach and I struggle to see how that would happen.

    He knows the lower leagues, as opposed to Hughes.

    They've done well everywhere until Portsmouth. That was their first "failure" and it both surprised me and cost me a lot of money. It hasn't dimmed my faith in them though.

    The level he's managed is not the level he's at now ......... he's trying to get us to play PL football with players that are simply not good enough ............and that's the problem is that the players are simply not comfortable playing a certain way that doesn't suit them :(
