New Manager - Welcome Derek Adams

Well yeah, although it wouldn't look great no matter who it is if they turn us down!

 

if it's not announced tomorrow, I expect it to be Adams. If it is announced tomorrow I expect it to be wellens or possibly Tisdale. I just don't think its adams as we have no reason to sack T&S if we didn't already have someone lined up. What happens if Morecambe and Adams both want silly money?

also very peculiar there is no market to put bets on next manager either.... someone knows who it is....

 

Another thing to think about re Adams is the compensation Morecambe will want. They won't let him go on the cheap and with an already reduced playing budget can we really afford a significant fee?

 

if as Ryan said, it's a done deal, if compensation is due, surely that will have been sorted already. He did say something along the lines, if you wait for something you want, you get it. We wanted Adams last January. Does my 2 and 2 equal 4? We shall have to wait and see.

 

Why would someone, who's stock is obviously high at Morecambe, be interested in joining a club which has become a managers graveyard? I wouldn't imagine Adams, or Morecambe, are happy at the distraction, as they prepare for the play offs.

 

They would've required permission to speak to him again and it surely would've been leaked by now. Also I'm not sure why Morecambe would've entertained it as it could prove to be a distraction to their playoff campaign.

Don't buy into the german owner and manager at all. Can't see Stefan trying to influence Ryan at all on that decision. I agree that it would be an unwelcome distraction but the fact that we cannot declare anything yet suggests it MAY be someone involved in the playoffs. Yes, his stock is high but can he repeat what he has done this year by staying at Morecambe or can he improve that stock by going elsewhere. Whoever it is, Ryan will have outlined the plans he has told us and probably more. Certainly gives us something to chew over.

 

Only if he resigns. Morecambe have only had four managers in 25 years and don't have a track record of sacking managers, particularly those that have brought their highest ever league finish.

 

Trouble is if it is Adams and they get to the play off final it’s going to be three weeks before he will be in will that hold up our retained list and transfers

If it is Adams then there no problem with him talking to Turnbull about City's retained list and incoming transfers.

Pritchard has announced his departure. I'm guessing the new manager is having input in our retained list and if so would Morecambe allow Adams to do that?

 

I think you are guessing wrong. The list was done ages ago.

 

Keith Hill sacked by Tranmere despite getting them into the playoffs...… seems strange....

 

He had lost the dressing room weeks ago. The fans wanted him gone well before now. Seems that the owner think the best chance of promotion is with someone other than Hill in the dugout.
