Fair play, but Cole Stockton going to League One is pretty funny.

    Bang average League Two striker.

Why should he sell his assets to keep us afloat. We are a Ltd Liability Company. Effectively that means his other assets are nothing to do with us. I have more at stake with a lifetime invested in Bradford City, my limited liability is the price of my season ticket and having already lost on the 25 year one I bought, I wouldn't sell any pf my other assets to keep BCFC afloat. They belong to me, his belong to him.

The only reason for him to put any more of his money into us is to protect what he already has invested. To chase his losses so to speak. Expecting him to inject capital is rose tinted thinking.

I’m not sure I believe that we can back to the PL. The gap between the PL and the championship is massive and growing. It’s possible the three relegated clubs will go straight back up. It’s entirely likely that Albion and Fulham will go back up next year and two or three of the promoter clubs will be relegated.
Dean Hoyle spent/loaned far more than Rupp can and will to get Town promoted and that’s the stumbling block. Take Brentford, small club compared to others in top half of the division, their wage bill in 19/20 was a touch under £23m. That’s City selling 23k season tickets at a grand each, or Rupp putting £15m in a season. Middlesbrough spent £27m on wages, Leeds £51m.
Football finance is broken and it’s getting more and more difficult to break in to that top division.

Nothing it’s in league two, that is the point, surely as an investment which City are to him it’s worth investing in to get them into a league where he can atleast recoup his money!

You don't need a lot of money to get out of League Two. This idea Bradford City's owner needs to invest was disproven last time we went up, and will be disproven again.

You don't need to pay transfer fees at this level - there are better players that get released each Summer than anyone we could coax away from another club for a fee.

If big wages meant anything in League Two, Salford would have won the league and Vaughan and Donaldson would have scored 30 each last season.

It's bad logic - you're only painting a target on your back investing heavily at this level. In the Championship, well, that's a different ball game entirely.

That didn't stop James Hanson. Looks to have a similar sort of strike rate.

Cor, makes my eyes water. Mother has some rotating water jet thing for “ scrubbing” new pots when I was a kid. It was like 50 grit sandpaper.

A 2” tatie was like a marble when she’d finished.

    Quick get back on topic!!:innocent:

I don't think strong 6'4 target men operate any differently at League One or League Two level - as long as they can win headers and disrupt defences, the only difference will probably be a couple of goals given lads like Hanson don't score many anyway.

Cole Stockton is hardly a 6'4 bruiser, though, is he? He's similar in stature to Vaughan - too slight to boss defences, but capable of playing in a direct side nonetheless.

Tbh, I've never really noticed him. Couldn't say what his stature or playing style is like.

Definitely not saying that, I think Championship is achievable and where we should be aiming, I just think unless football finances change, there is some amazing luck or we find an owner willing to lose a lot of money, the PL is a pipe dream. I’d say that’s true for 50 or more of the 72 clubs in the FL.

Fair point. So maybe invest in staff that can get the players as fit as possible so we can kill teams off in last ten minutes of a game, we have to get out of this league it’s f**king shit !!!!

A man with a plan that works at League Two level.

That's pretty much all you need.

Then give him what he asks for.

If that individual fails, try the next man with a plan that works at this level. Sooner or later...

Getting into the Championship should be attainable but then so should being promoted into League 1 and that seems to be out of our grasp currently! But let's just suppose we can get into the Championship. Whether we can then become established is highly questionable imo .. unless somebody is willing to use their own money (I hesitate to call it an investment) to maintain us there. Without that, we'd be just another Rotherham or Wycombe or Burton forever fighting to avoid relegation and then battling once again to get back.

And as for the pipe dream of the PL, hundreds of millions have been spent by some clubs attempting to get into the PL without success and some are still doing it and still chasing the dream. The only sustainable way forward is a huge overhaul of football finance which is unlikely. It would require the support of the PL and many of the lower end clubs in the PL would veto it.

SkyBet book no longer available for next City manager.

They still have Leyton Orient book open with Kenny Jackett at incredibly low odds of 1/7.
