I'm not sure why anyone would want Stockton. He's a brute alright but he's also a red card waiting to happen and has a goal scoring record that makes Guthrie look like Pele. 30 league goals in 146 League Two games isn't very good is it ?

 

Listening to Talksport this morning they were discussing the possibility of a woman manager taking a job in the EFL after Emma Hayes was said to be interesting Wimbledon last year. Sam Matterface said he thought a woman could be in charge of a EFL club next season. Casey Stoney leaving Man Utd woman so would Sparkes be bold enough? Press would be all over us if he did.

 

Sparks does't have enough "credit in the bank" to try a bold move like that. He knows he's messed up twice and has to get this one right or he's a p45 waiting to happen

 

Think he suits a style where he holds the ball up and brings others in. Not known for his goals and can get away with it if wingers etc are chipping in with the goals

Its a really interesting idea. I'm not suggesting we should do it for PR - any appointment has to be on the basis of merit only. But it could be a huge vehicle for sponsorship and investment for a 'forward thinking club'.

Come again ? I'm referring to Sparks not having enough leeway in his job stability to allow him to appoint a female manager ? How does that relate to teams looking at him ?

 

50 goals in 230 matches as an out and out striker, 20 of which are in the national league. Quality record that, just our kind of number 9.

 

There’s too much at stake for this appointment to gamble with an appointment that has never been done in the history of men’s professional football. Only way I could see it happening is a niche/Wokey chairman like the one at Forest Green doing it.

I obviously misread it. I thought Park meant that teams in higher leagues were looking at Sparks.
