    I dont see the FA Cup winning kit from over 100 years ago inspiring the lads to get promotion from DIV4 - completely different!!!. Now if it was a cup final coming up...

    The clues are in unique, special, inspire and our aim for promotion. Im betting 1981. White home.

    The 1911 cup winning shirt, is also the same shirt they used in 1921. Would be easy to mark it as a hundred years celebration. I think "retelling a famous story" can only indicate a cup run. "Retelling a famous SEASON" and I'd be with you on a promotion winning shirt. We've also got hoops as our first ever shirt when we were inducted into the league, and hoops when we went on that famous cup run. So I'm still sticking with my two choices - the 1911/21 "yolk shirt" or the 1903/2012 "hoops".

    It’s not, its the shirt City got relegated from the First Division (old) into the second tier.

    We had this shirt about 10 years ago in cup competitions. I remember us beating Forest in it at home. I think that was the match that Dave Syers scored on his debut. Peter Taylor was the manager.

    Knowing how Sparks likes a story, it wouldn't suprise me if it's a replica of that 1911 shirt, with the names of the winning players written on it. Inspirational stuff! (and also expensive to make, cos it's an ad hoc shirt, rather than a generic Avec one.)
