The cost for people to walk on the pavement is nothing. Why can't people take personal responsibility for themselves? If you choose to walk in the road then accept you are at risk of cars.

Sherlock Holmes you are not, those who know call it Risk Mitigation…. Remove the risk !
Any Professional Risk Assessor on the planet would say the same.

Minimising risk is part of every day life. We tell folk not to play in rivers or reservoirs in warm weather but they do. When there are literally thousands of people funneling down that road there will be times when there are a lot of pedestrians on the road, due to various reasons. The risk is to them, not the car user. Take the car user out of it as you would a risk assessment at work.

I'm convinced you've broken new ground and discovered a hitherto untold secret.

At least judging from the pro-pavement fascists :p

It wouldn’t cost much. Aris barriers, a few security men and signs?

Might be easier to close for the next few w weeks while Queens Road is shut between Kings Road and Midland Road

It wouldn’t be one application per date surely , rather one application for all League and cup games, reviewing annually.

The only difference would be two separate risk assessments, depending on day or night games within seasonal time windows ?

Individual applications for single day closures for sporting events is pretty close to as you suggest in Norfolk it’s £800 .

It’s not insurmountable. If they can do it on Rooley Lane, part of the Ring Road network of Bradford then a rat run like Midland Rd would be a piece of cake?

think fees quoted earlier were one off fee for a large event road closures of about £4K plus then a repeat fee of £60.
Then there are the costs of actually putting together the application, then the costs in manning it with properly trained and insured staff.

Has there been any updates since the incident? Have WYP manage to catch anyone?
