    The league doesn't lie.

I blame the really poor tactics, substitutions, signings, constant changes in team selection and lack of options down to Hopkin which reflects on our league position which reflects the way we play. Yes we've won games and went on a good run in Dec/Jan but we are really poor to watch at times and have very little to shout about.

No manager is perfect, and all those things are standard. You won't find a manager at this level who doesnt tick those rather basic boxes.

The real issues, for me, all stem back to last January before being compounded in June and July.

The damage to our club was critical, and the mess left virtually unsalvagable.

If Hopkin doesn't salvage this situation, then he had merely met my personal expectations.

We weren’t 8 points adrift when HopkinS took over, plymouth were bottom with three points. Hopkin has only clawed back points that his management dropped in the first place. He has acquired 27 points in 26 games. All depends how you want to spin it? Even with the good results in December we’re currently picking up a point a game under his leadership.

As i mentioned its what spin you put on it, its easy to take a run of results and use it to make a point. For instance our last 12 games have yielded 18 points, the sort of form needed to escape relegation yet our last 6 game have only netted 6 points. Thats relegation form. We hit a hot streak like December we stay up, our overall record suggests we won't and the big test is to come in March with a run of games against teams around the top 6. If we fail to win on Saturday the lack of points from the last three easily winnable games could prove telling.

Especially as Edin had allowed him to be the manager and bring in free transfers and his own coaching staff. It was Hopkin’s decision to defer those decisions.

At the end of the day, 1pt per game is no better than Collins, despite getting all he wanted in order to get us out of the mess. Collins was Rahic’s puppet and still gained the same ratio of points per game

We don't have a natural fox in the box and unless you can do what Town did to us with Nahki, virtually impossible to get one in January(ask Mackem fans). Billy and JB are good footballers and as they get more time under their belts, I feel they will do enough to keep us up but at this moment, we can expect no more. Then after, we can only cross one bridge at a time. As a club we have taken one big kicking and such a setback takes longer to correct than effect. Most of us will still turn up, cheer on the lads and a lot of the time will carry on to moan like hell. Tell you what; having a couple of beers then spending a couple of hours biting my nails is still preferable to no footie on a Saturday afternoon.

Well I cannot remember anyone clamouring for DH specifically, After the clown manager Edin appointed we were happy to see anyone who had some football experience, History and results are showing we chose the wrong man

Like he’d come here now, at this stage. Wouldn’t be much of a step up for him.

That's good, but Evans still only succeeded with big money behind him.

There are also articles questioning where the money for those players came from.

Its all very shady, much like at Boston.

I would no confidence Evans would succeed without big money - and even with big money if Peterborough is anything to go by. I'm not sure he's ever succeeded on a truly level playing field; of course Evans does his very best to avoid level playing fields.

And when sack him after a few months without any realistic transfer fund, who should we get in then?

He has worked miracles with a team that was doomed to non league before his appointment, When he took over Newport were 11 points adrift at the bottom of league 2, His management kept them up so 15th is pretty good compared to a manager who has 7 wins in 28 games

There are some silly articles, as there was seven years ago when Parky got similar abuse

Fact is aren't we around 10th in the last 15 games table?

Did we lose on Saturday? Because I saw us dominate a second half against one of the form teams and made there very good attack look one dimensional

Look, I know the last year has been hard, but can you stop thinking that there is some magical solution around the corner

We've been spoilt for five seasons. It's like the Walsall fans said last season (after we blew the 3-0 lead) when did we become so much better than everyone else, that we feel we've a devine right to success? They've survived in this division for about ten decades, by pulling together when they've had similar scraps

    He made a single mistake.

He said Rotherham were in L1 for two seasons, when it was only one.

Take a look at our results up to mid-November.

    Look at the results since.

Its night and day; not even close. Nothing like.

Here is the league table after we had lost to Portsmouth on Nov 3. 7 points from safety and really 8 due to goal difference. Yet after 23 games -just 6 games later-at the half way stage we clawed it back and were out of the bottom four. Results since have been inconsistent but we have taken 23 points from the last 16 games.

HopkinS first 10 games yielded just 4 points just to give some context. I get that it was a hard job to come into but i would have expected better than that.

spot on. Comments about accumulating a midtable points total over the last 10-12 games would hold far more value if we actually looked like a solid mid table team.

Any stats in our favour are centred around a phenomenal December which we haven't come close to replicating since and probably never will.

I don't disagree, but getting shut of Edin gives us hope for the future - not an immediate turn around.

Hopefully we'll never recruit so badly again, never plan a preseason so badly again, never demoralise so many players again, never treat people so badly again, etc, etc, etc

But that doesn't mean Hopkin should have been able to make everything better just because that grade A ding-dong had left.
